These are quite common plugs used in computers. I suggest you take it into a electronics store and get a plug that will fit into the back of your GPS and the other end needs to have a standard USB connector. then the only thing you'll need is a cell phone charger that plugs into the cigarette lighter plug

I had this problem on an aftermarket battery I purchased last year. It worked well for several months but recently gave me the battery missing warning and would not operate the unit at all. I checked the voltage on my Garmin OEM and on the new one. The Garmin OEM, showed 8.1V on two readings, between the center and right terminals and about that between the two outer terminals. The OEM showed around 5.7 so that implied that it had some bad cells and not a broken wire. I tossed it and bought a new aftermarket unit last week. That one doesn't show a full charge and when I switched back to the Garmin battery it shows 00:00 time remaining, but still 8.1V. Maybe I should have just bought a new Garmin battery!

The battery on your GPS is NOT user servicable. You should contact Garmin at www.garmin.com to inquire about getting the battery replaced.

Check the battery contact points inside the unit. There may be a thin film of crud (oxidation) that prevents contact, especially if the previous battery had any signs of corrosion.
