Follow the instructions below and it will work.

Disconnect the Camera from the USB port and reinstall the CD or Downloaded software program.

When the program asks you to connect the camera to the USB port, do so and it should work.

Then to use it on the Web, do this.
Web Camera’s have to be setup on the program they are to be used with. Just installing the camera on your computer does not set it up to broadcast on messengers or Skype.

Each program has Options that have to be setup in order for the Audio and Video to function properly.

3. Next Calling and Devices on the right and set the Microphone and Speakers to the computer Audio Card.
4. Next go to the Test Audio section and (in blue writing) click on “Open the call setup assistant” and follow the instructions on the left window.

C. Windows Live Messenger:

1. After you start Windows Live Messenger, expand the view by clicking on the square on top left next to the red X.
2. Then on the Windows Live messenger window on the right side, click on “ “Show Menus.” And then click on “Show the Menu Bar”.
3. Next go to the Menu Bar on right side, click on “ “Action.”

Microphone
Speaker

Adjust Your Audio and Video Settings:
In order to adjust your audio and video settings, please follow the steps given below:
1. Click the Audio and Video Settings button directly below the My Buddy or My Camera window. If you are currently participating in an AOL Live Video IM session, a message will display: You must disconnect the current AOL Live Video IM conversation before running setup. Would you like to disconnect now? Click the Yes button.
2. The Audio and Video Tuning Wizard will appear to help you verify that your camera, speakers and microphone are working properly. Follow the on-screen prompts.
Notes:
· The first time you use AOL Live Video IM, a message will display: Would you like to first check your audio and video settings? Click the Yes button. The Audio and Video Tuning Wizard will appear to help you verify that your camera, speakers and microphone are working properly. Follow the on-screen prompts.
· images in AOL Live Video IM may appear reversed, or as a mirror image (text may appear backwards) when you look at your own camera feed or at the picture-in-picture (PIP) display.
After making the settings your ready for a chat and video talk with your Family and Friends.

After you get your camera installed properly, DO NOT unplug it from the USB port as it will cause
the drivers to be corrupt and render the camera unusable till reinstalled it properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

How to configure huawei hg533 router for home network

William the more information you can provide the more accurate can be our brain trust community's answer.
What I have to guess is you added the cameras to an existing network.
What you need to provide is how are the camera's getting their IP addresses ?
How are the PC getting their IP addresses.
My guess
Go into the router settings and look for DCHP server. Look at the leases issued and change the IP addresses that are assigned to the cameras to Static rather than Dynamic. if the cameras are getting IP address from DHCP. server rather than being set up manually..

If you manually set up the IP addresses on the cameras then alter the available ip range on the DHCP server to avoid the IP addresses assigned to the cameras. As an example say the DCHP range was 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.254 then alter it to be 192.168.1.21 to 192.168.1.254 and then hence the ip addresses 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.20 are used on static ip addresses like printers and cameras devices.

How do you log into the router
go to the internet browser and type in 192.168.1.1 and it should bring up your router The user name is most likely admin and the password will be admin by default. If no one has changed them.
I have looked at the usre manual but it does not spell out how to change the DCHP ip address ranges leases out or the way to change the ip addresses leased out to static for the cameras. I think you will find some sort of setting in thew dhcp menu option of the router.

What
I think is happening is called an ip address conflict. And the above suggestions should stop this from occurring when you reboot the IP address is re assigned and the DCHP server could be issuing ip address leases to your p.cs that are already staticly assigned to your cameras.

Sounds like the computer you're trying to connect to your wi-fi router is set up with a static IP address that is being reserved by your router for DHCP. To resolve, make sure your router has "DHCP" (dynamic host configuration protocol) turned on. Make sure the computer you're trying to connect to your router is set up to allow the DHCP server in your router to set the computer's IP address and DNS server address. You can find instructions to enable DHCP in your router's user manual or by searching online. You can find instructions for setting your computer's wireless adapter to allow the DHCP server in your router to set the computer's IP and DNS addresses here:

How to set Static local IP Address for D-link DCS 5220 IP Camera? Am using Linksys WRTG54 Router, with SSID & WPA. I had set the D-Link DCS wireless to use the same SSID and WPA, but once I plug out...

To set a static IP on the camera, do the following:

1. Chose an IP address for the camera that is outside your normal DHCP range but within your network subnet.
For example, if your router uses DHCP and gives out addresses in the range of 192.168.1.1 up to 192.168.1.10, you should chose an IP address beyond that (e.g. 192.168.1.20).
2. Login to your camera's current IP address and go to Setup -> Network setup
3. Turn off DHCP and type in the IP address that you chose into the configuration.
4. Restart your camera.

The above should fix your Static IP address question.

With regards to your Wireless question, you should make sure of the following:
1. Your router is set to broadcast its SSID
2. Your router is setup to use WPA (not WPA2)
3. Your AES password in the camera config is the same as that as the routers

Hope this helps

IP camera keeps resets itself

Hi

I have a pretty good knowledge of these cameras as I have 5 around my house.....

IP address resets are likely caused by the default address being loaded (192.168.0.99) and the box is not checked to reset the IP on reboot. You have two options.....

Using IP surveillence, open the camera settings. You will be prompted that the recording will stop, just press OK. Once you get to the settings window, you should see your list of cameras and the config screen for the one that is highlighted. Pick the camera you want to change the setting for and go to the tab where you can assign the IP address and gateway. Type in the IP address you want it to use. Uncheck the box that says 'reset IP on reboot'. That box is at the top. Hit apply. Once you do that, cycle the power on the unit leaving it off for at least 10 seconds. When the camera reboots, type in the new IP and you should be able to view it. (sometimes the camera will default on that IP if your router is using 192.168.0.1 and DHCP for computers that has that IP in it's range of assignments of IPs. Telling the camera which one to use and telling it to not reset on reboot will make the new IP stay in the camera.)

Your second option is to use the Installation Wizard or IE, find the camera either by typing in the IP for the camera in IE with the http:// or linking to the device with the installation wizard. If you follow the same procedure of assigning the IP and unchecking the box on reboot like described earlier, this should cure your problem. You do NOT want the IP resetting on reboot unless the camera will not link to your home router (likely causes for this is the IP range the router uses, say 192.168.1.1 like most belkin or linksys routers use, does not cover the IP range of the camera in it's DHCP server.

What I found best was to buy a junk router, set it's DHCP IP range to cover 192.168.0.99, set the camera, save it, kill the cameras power, connect it to the router you plan to use, then start the camera back up. Make sure whatever IP address you use on the camera is one covered by the DHCP server list on the router. ie: camera is set to 192.168.2.2 and the router assigns IPs from 192.168.2.2 through192.168.2.254. If your router only assigns IPS from 192.168.2.100 through 192.168.2.200 and the IP on the camera is 192.168.2.2, you won't be able to connect to it.

Hope this helps

Connection (or disconnection) difficulties

The time span for the assigned IP address are controlled by the router in the DHCP configuration, which can be set to your satisfaction, by accessing the router configuration page, by entering http://192.168.0.1 in the internet explorer address window. Be sure to use the IP Address assigned to the router.. Also you can release an IP of a computer by opening the MS/DOS command window by clicking Start/Run and typing in CMD and then enter at the courser ipconfig /release this will release the ip. then type ipconfig /renew this will reset the ip of the computer. If this helps please rate as a FixYa. Thanks BPCS

Cant accses router

Pressing and holding the reset button on the router for about 5 seconds should reset the router, but you may need to connect with the router via an RJ45 network cable incase the wireless is not able to set it up The default ip address of the router should then be 192.168.2.1. do not use the windows repair wizard as this totally messes up your pcs ip address, make sure that your network wireless and wired adapters, are set to obtain an ip address automatically You shouldnt change the PPOE or PPOA settings, as they are the settings on which your ISP allows your router to connect to the server. Manually entering an ip address will effect the address of the router so keep the settings as enable DHCP to assign ip addresses automatically. Ensure when you have it running you save the settings so as you can reinstall them if neccasary.
