SOURCE: Panasonic PT-47wx53, No power, 3 Blinks
Panasonic PT53WX42F with same problem. 3 blinks after power on for a few seconds, no picture or sound. Solution: replaced two convergence ICs (STK392-XXX) located on the large green printed circuit board. ICs are very large and screwed into two large heat sinks and soldered to board. Cost is approximately $6 each. Easy to replace if careful. May be able to access solder joints on bottom of board by removing screen on bottom of cabinet or simply remove 4 screws that anchor plastic holder to cabinet and tilt up. I did not disconnect any inter-board connections. Remove heat sink screws. Desolder using suction bulb or solder sucker. Works great. Finish off with solderwick braid if necessary to clear holes. 40 watt iron is enough do not apply too much heat to damage board lands. Remove IC. Clean heat sink by scraping away white heat sync compound. Apply generous amount of heat sync compound to new IC and coat evenly. Align and insert new IC holes, resolder with thin resin core solder being careful not bridge lands. Refasten to heat sink. Clean board and inspect for good joints and no bridging. Refasten plastic board holder. Carefully clean projection lenses while back is off tv. Power up and it should be fixed. Parts are obtainable on-line. Solder tools and board cleaner are available at Radio Shack or on-line also. I spent $20 on parts and supplies. This is not hard just a bit tedious. You can do it.
