i had this problem but then i realised it was completely to do with te way i had hoked it to the tele
if you get the main power suply and turn i round by the wire 3-7 times will on a game it will work perfectly

you have to take the x-box apart(youtube) and then take off the heat sinks clean the thermal paste apply new thermal paste remount heat sinks with type 5mm screws and m-5 washers, nylon not necessary. after remounting the heatsinks you have to overheat the system and then let it cool. the overheating process will sometimes require a heat gun since the console will not stay on long enough to get it heated properly. you sometimes don't have to do this if reapplying new thermal paste has done the trick.
