Your camera takes a Type 1 Compact Flash card (CF card), but can only handle the very low capacity types which are no longer in production.

You should be able to find an 8,16,32 or 64MB CF cards via an auction website for peanuts, or even by just asking on FreeCycle or amongst the folks you know. They were often bundled as starter cards with cameras and rapidly discarded as near useless, but as your camera only has a 1.3MP sensor you can still save between 24 and 192 images at the highest quality setting depending upon the card size. If you get offered 128 or 256MB cards then they might also work but were never tested with your model. At worst they simply won't work and may make the camera sluggish, so if they're free you have nothing to lose. 512MB cards (the current minimum capacity in production) and above have been reported not to work in your camera.

You can also download a free copy of your camera user manual from here.

When I put my 2gb Sandisk memory card in my pentax optio 33lf, it turns on, the lens goes out, it takes a photo and freezes. What is the problem? If I take the memory card out, it works fine?

My 33LF won't work with even a 1gb Memory Card. It freezez up as you describe. So far it seems happy enough with 512mb cards. A camera shop operator told me that the capacity of the card exceeds the capacity of the camera and it seems he was right.

According to the Pentax web site, there is no firmware update available for the 33LF camera. As far as your pics are concerned, you can use a card reader to download them to your computer. Then, you can format the card in the camera and everything should be ok.

I purchased an SDHC card for my pentax K100 and it does not work - any suggestions?

Unfortunately, with the current software onboard the k100d isn't compatible with a sdhc card. It looks like it's max capacity is 2gig.
There's some hope that there may be a firmware upgrade for the camera later, but for now it's limited to 2g cards.

What is the maximum size sd card for a Pentax Optio A10? The 4 GB card is not being recognized by the camera (which I just got).

The A10 accepts SD cards, which max out at 2Gb. The 4Gb card is actually an SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) card, not an SD card, and thus will not work in devices designed for SD cards. Compatibility goes only one way--SD cards will work in SDHC devices but not the other way around.

Does the camera work with any other card? Was the card formatted in the camera? Some cards from some manufacturers just don't work in some cameras.

I need a driver for Pentax *istDL2 digital camera.

Bypass the USB cable and buy a card reader.

Your camera takes an SD card so all you need is a SD card reader. You take the SD card out of the camera and stick it into the card reader and that goes into your USB on your computer.

I believe ritz camera sells them for around 15 dollars. You can get them at ANY place that sells electronics. Such as Best buy, Ritz camera, penn camera, staples, walmart, target, etc.

You really dont need the USB cable considering SLR have no built in memory.

A card reader would serve you better.

******* As far as your camera not working when hooked up to your USB, some cameras require you to install there software. This means its not a "Mass Storage" device. Think of it like an Ipod, it hooks into the USB, but you need itunes to see it.

or you can try this website for software
http://www.pentax.jp/english/support/digital/photo3_win.html
This is for the PENTAX PHOTO Browser 3 and PENTAX PHOTO Laboratory 3
