A new waveguide cover is required before the magnetron kills itself!

I am disassembling a Kenmore stove top gas burner to clean under the stove top. To do so you actually need to unscrew the burners, which I've done, but then I need to unhook the spark electrode, which...

The electrode is held onto the burner head with a screw through the mounting tab. They can get crusted over and it's not always easy to see the screw head, but it's there.

My ge is sparking inside. There's a screw not covered and I covered it and still sparked.

I think the magnetron is leaking with traces of open metal exposed out. It will be better to clean the cabin throughly and make sure that there aren't any exposed parts.
If the sparks are still coming in then remove tthe magnetron and check for signs of spark marks on it , if so it must be replaced.
Make sure that the wiring is intact and there is no foreign particles stuck within the magnetron.

Flash/sparks occrred (no metal in oven)

You know I just had a similar problem on my old unit. There was a spark and my bowl had no metal rims. I figger your ground connection has corroded at the rivets. So if you can drill a 1/8 inch hole in there and install a #8 sheet mtal screw or two to bond it togeter again.

Bulb out help

The Bulb is always accessible from inside the oven. The grate will come off in one of three ways. Disconnect power cord first.
1. Secured with screws. Screws should be visible.
2. Grate itself unscrews. Should be in counter-clockwise direction.
3. Grate held in with clips. Should pull straight out with a wiggle.
The bulb itself should unscrew in a counter-clockwise direction. Take it in as a sample when purchasing replacement.:::Spiceweasel.au
