Nikon Coolpix L11 Lense Error

My camera lense is a little bit out and completely stuck. Everytime i turn it on it says "Camera Error". I really don't know what to do and I don't have any money to buy a new one (I got this as a gift). Please help me find a solution to this problem.

Hello that would be "lens error", which means the camera may have been dropped, bumped or possibly a piece of sand/dirt got inside the lens mechanism.

there are tiny plastic gears inside and may have chipped causing the lens to jamb. "very fragile"

one solution is to ask a camera repair shop how much a lens mechanism would be to replace. (if cost is more than 1/2 of what you paid dont bother)

another solution is to have someone sell your camera on an auction site for parts, to make some money towards another camera purchase.

Turn off and turn on again

What it is the camera lense is a little bit dry. What happens when you turn it on is the Lense Homing
is looking for intiation. If it does not see the lense has made its "Open" sensor in a reasonable amount of time, it thinks there is a problem and tells you to shut it down. What you have done by tapping on it dislodged the obstruction, or "Eased" the Friction in the Gears and Worm guides within the lenses drive mechanism. The lense Drive motor also senses an "over current" condition and will cause it to alert.

Just my 2 cents

Lens are stuck out. screen says "lens error"

There could be two things causing this problem.

1- some dirt somehow got on the outside of side of the lense. So the lense could not fully retract or open out. As a result you can not take any picture. If the lense comes out even a little bit, try to pull it out NOT too hard a few times. If it does not retract, turn the camera off and push the lense in (up and down) NOT too hard for a few times. If the camera opened up 100% or retracted 100%, your camera should be back to normal. Make sure to clean the outside of the lense when fully open and keep it clean always. If this did not help, read 2.

2- If you dropped the camera, some mechanical part of the lense is broken or dislocated or the cable may have come loose. In this case you need to take out the lense from the camera and inspect it for broken pieces or loose cable. clean the outside of the lense and push the lense in and out a few times. Put the lense back on the camera and your camera would be back to normal.

Good luck!!!!!!

I have the Sony digital camera DSC-T20, when i turn it on, it flashes "E:61:00 STANBY", it has been this way for a little over four months, and it will not focus at all. Any help?

Hi,
We had the same problem, and we fixed it! First, identify that it''s the AF motor drive by A) Turning it on and putting your ears against the camera, then hearing a humming noise for about 5 seconds. B) The error comes up flashing on the screen: "E:61:00". Okay, so you''ve identified your problem! Next you wanna fix it, right? ;) A) Put the camera about a half inch from a hard surface. B) Let the lense go out and hit the surface and retract a little bit. Let it go out all the way when it tries the next time. If that doesnt fix it, try this: A) Turn it on and let the lense go out fully B) See where the lense comes out of the camera? The little round crack that surrounds it? Wiggle the lense a bit and blow in there a bit. (Be sure not to blow on the lense!) Now turn it off/on again, and it should be fixed! If not, try these steps a few more times. If still nothing, then I suggest phoning Sony, but this DID work for us, so hopefully it''ll work for you :)

While turning in off softely press the lense in and out a couple of times. The lense would retract. If not fully, but most of the way, push the lense a little harder in until completely retract. If you turn it on, I should work fine. The reason the lense does not retract is most likely some dust in there somewhere. If it did not help, you would have to open the lense and clean it and close the lense.

I hope it helps,

Turn on your camera, when the lense is opened, hold it till the blue screen appears, extend the lense to his maximum forcing it a little bit then when you turn off your camera, the noise won't be here. Turn on again your camera and hopes it works. I tried it on my camera, works well at the first try then again the error, i did it twice holding the lense when you turn it on, then it worked perfectly.
Hope it works for you.
P.S : my english isn't well but i hope it helps.
