Hi...I have a problem with my HP Photosmart C7280...can you help ? the error message "Photo tray problem" keeps coming up, telling me to "lift the output tray, push the photo tray all the way in and lower the output tray". The photo tray is pushed all the way in, no doubt about it, and I am not even tryingt o print on the photo tray. I have tried the reset (press "OK" + "Cancel" etc when powering up) and no change. Thanks Jag

HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-One Printer

1. Turn off printer.

2. Pull out paper tray and photo tray

3. Remove output duplexer (on back of printer)

4. Open input sheet feeder (on top of printer)

5. Open cartridge access door. (Basically lift up control panel and scanner section of the printer)

6. Turn on printer (Power button on now raised control panel)

7. Printer may display message "Performing printer alignment - Do not interrupt"

8. Wait for a few minutes until printer stops making all setup noises.

9. Close cartridge access door, close input sheet feeder, replace output duplexer, insert paper trays

10. Do a test print. All should be fine.

My hp2780 keeps telling me the photo tray is not pushed in when it is

It's an incredibly frustrating problem. One thing that worked for me was to:

1. shut down the printer by pulling out the power source
2. make sure to push output tray down as far as it can go

HP Photosmart C7280. Keeps asking to put paper in tray even though it is full. Lot's of noise coming out but no paper being pulled through.

When you get that message, ususally the rollers that pick up the paper have stuff on them that's made them slick. This video shows how to clean the rollers (and some other steps as well).

HP c7180 message "Push output photo tray all the way down"

I have the HP C7280 and I was able to fix the problem.
HP seems to have 3 trays. The bottom tray is for the paper. The middle one has a small blue tray for the photos and the top tray is where the paper comes out.
Well I lifted the top tray where the paper comes out (it can angle up) and then I clicked OK on the problem. I may have even rebooted, but then I got a new error message which is good. It said to push photo tray (the small blue tray) all the way in which I pulled out and pushed back in. Then I pushed the top tray down so all is flat again. I clicked OK and it re-calibrated with no more error messages! Hope this helps.
