Question about Canon imagePROGRAF iPF710 InkJet Plotter Printer

1 Answer

I have a canon iPF710 and everytime I go to print, it says error: Out of memory. I believe it has to do with the printer saving the old print jobs to it's personal memory. How do I clear out the old print jobs so I can print?

I'm getting the message 'cannot continue to print as disk is full' How do I clear the internal memory?

Hi Lucy,

Try this:

Your print job is killing the printer's memory. a couple things to try:
1. disable spooling and print directly to the printer.
this almost never works, but from the control panel, open printers (and faxes) and right click on your printer and select "properties". the radio button to check is under the advanced tab.
2. print to an image first, print to another software printer, like the microsoft document imaging printer. then reprint from the .mdi file that is generated by it.
3. export your file to a non-publisher document.
file save as file type to something other than a .pub file. a .doc might work, then again it might muck up your layout.
a .jpg/bmp would work very nicely for printing.
4. increase the memory to your printer.
this option may not be possible for you.

Many nozzle on printhead did not inject .
You must clean your head or replace it. Or comes up in service mode
and check your nozzle check .For cleaning head you can take it out of printer and clean with head solvent, if not clears maybe u must replace print head.

Also check the canon ipf710 service manual from below link, it will save you money and time

I cannot get my document printed. when i try to print I get the message printer is busy then , another message that states a printing error occurred appears

Open Notepad and type the following lines:
net stop spooler
del %systemroot%\system32\spool\printers\*.shd
del %systemroot%\system32\spool\printers\*.spl
net start spooler

Save it in your root directory as: C:\DeletePrintJobs.cmd
Create a shortcut for it and move it to your Desktop

Now everytime you have print job(s) that got stuck in the print queue
go to your desktop and Double Click on the DeletePrintJobs.cmd

It will clear all pending print jobs in the print queue and allow you to
print new jobs again.

We have been trying to print a map via the Canon imagePROGRAF iPF710 that we have in our office however when we try to print it tells us that the memory is full and we cannot print. How do we delete/clear...

Shut off the device, pull the power plug. With the device un-plugged, push and hold the power button for about 5 seconds. Then you can re-connect the power and actually turn the device on. Now the issue you may be running into is the physical document you are trying to print is too large for the printers memory. You can fix this be scaling down the document, the steps to do that vary based on what application you are trying to print from, or you can increase the ram in your printer.

Canon IPF710... can the print head be replaced by the user? If so do you have instructions available?

yes, you can replace the print head by your self.
Go to menu-maintenance-replace print head-check yes-then ok.
Make sure to have enough space at your maintenance cartridge (more than 60%)
