Question about Nintendo Wii Console

1 Answer

Wii system was has power etc. Handheld control has fresh batteries and lights on face of controller do light up when attempts at pressing various buttons. When Wii is turned on-screen on TV shows Wii is on although controller will not start up the system. Seems as if there is a "disconnect" of info between the controller and the Wii system itself. Our system is relatively new so that should not be the issue.

Ensure that the batteries in the controllers are fresh. Make note that there is a small red button inside the battery case. There is also one behind the SD flap on the front of the Wii. Press the red button on the Wiimote so that the blue lights are flashing on it. Then, while the system is on, press the red button on the console. The controller should now be linked to the Wii. Happy gaming!

I have 3 wii remotes was using one that had batteries it died so i replaced all remotes with new batteries and now none of them will sync or work they just turn off right away

After replacing the batteries, you may have to do a hard sync by pressing the sync button beside the SD slot on the Wii and the sync button on the back of the Wiimote underneath the battery cover. Both buttons are a kind of dark reddish-brown colour.

My wii wirless sencor bar has a blue light on but wont pick up my wii remote

Perform a remote power requirements check. For example, check for batteries in remote control compartments, replace with fresh new batteries for desired operations. Alternatively, the remote control would require power on buttons before functioning with NIntendo. Locate controls power button to initatiate process.

Wii powers on..at start up screen press a to continue wii controllers/wii does nothing..batteries are all new in controllers..

Are your controllers sync'd with the Wii? In another words, on the bottom of the Wii Controllers are 4 blue lights. Is one of those four lights illuminated? If not, it will not know that you're pressing it -- you will have to sync the wii remotes.

The remotes flash then switch off, i have synced them again but still wont work.

start with the basics FRESH BATTERIES:

1) Fresh batteries should be in each.

2) Turn on the Wii with Player 1's remote or the button on the console.

3) Open your SD Card cover and press Sync. Very shortly afterward, press the red button on your P1 Remote (in the battery cover). Lights will blink and then will be showing a light in the first square, denoting the connection is complete and it's P1.

4) Do the same as Step 3 for the P2 remote. For the P2 remote, after the blinking, then the second square will be lit, meaning it's P2.

That is the Standard Connection. It is tied to the Wii until it's re-done.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After you attempt to synch them (pressing the red synch button on the wii, followed by the red synch button underneith the battery cover of the wiimote), make sure the wii is turned on and press the buttons 1 and 2 on the wiimote at the same time to have it search for recognized bluetooth devices (ie. your wii).

found this article too.

this should help you.. leave a testimonial if I helped.
The first thing I did while the Wii was turned on was that I tried to sync the Wii Remote by pressing the "1" + "2" buttons at the same time. The lights at the bottom of the controller flashed for about 30 seconds, but never received the signal from the Wii. Bummer.

The next step I followed was to hit the sync button on the Wii Remote (Wiimote). Then immediately opened the cover for the opening where the SD Flash card goes and pressed the sync button on the Wii. 30 seconds of flashing, and no result. Double bummer.

Finally, after some Google searching, I found a couple of message boards where people had to press the Sync button on the Wii (not the Wii Remote) for 15 seconds to reset it. I performed this step and then pressed sync on the Wii Remote. The 2nd controller synced up almost immediately. What a relief!

Apparently the problem lies in the fact that the Bluetooth technology being used has to be manually synced in order for it to connect to the Wii. It does not make much sense at all. You would think they could be pre-authorized in order to minimize time and ease of use. In addition, you really have to be careful that your other controllers are turned on while syncing or else the controller that you are trying to put on channel 3 might end up on channel 2! This happened to me on one occasion.

Good luck with getting your Wiimotes in sync with your Wii. Hopefully this helped!

Wii fit balance board

Make sure that whatever game you are playing (ie: Wii Fit) is fully loaded before pressing the power button.

If the light continues to go off, you may need to re-sync your Wii Fit balance board to the console. To do this, load Wii Fit, and when the program is running, press the red button inside the battery cover. Immediately press the same type of red button inside the panel on the Wii located between the eject and reset buttons (on the face).

If these steps don't work, try fresh new alkaline batteries and repeat.

Note that there have been lots of complaints using rechargable batteries. I've had the same alkalines in my unit for 3 months now. If insistent on using rechargables, I suggest buying several of the same battery and a quick (15 minute or 1 hr) charger as opposed to ANY after-market recharging product. It will be cheaper and more reliable.

Good luck!

Wii remote turns off

It sounds like you either have a low battery, or your motions may be dislodging the batteries on your controller. When the controller is off and you press a button, check to see how many of the four blue lights on the bottom of the controller are flashing. This tells you how much battery power you have: four lights is full, one light is low. If it's saying your battery is full, try taking the battery or batteries out and putting it back in. Good luck!

My Wii sensor isn't able to pick up any of my controller's after i turn the console on. All my controller's are fully charged with new batteries but none are picked up by the sensor???

The sensor bar really isn't a sensor at all. There are just 3 infrared LED lights on each side of the bar (you can see them if you look at them on the screen of a digital camera while the Wii is on). The bar just gives the controllers a reference point as to where the screen is.
The controllers actually communicate directly with the console. If the console won't recognize them, make sure there are fresh batteries and then

  1. Press the Power button on the Wii console to turn it on.
  2. Remove the battery cover on the back of the Wii Remote you wish to sync up, and press the SYNC button just below the batteries. The Player LED will blink.
  3. Open the SD Card Slot cover on the front of the Wii console and press the SYNC button on the inside of the compartment.
  4. When the Player LED blinking stops, the syncing is complete. The LED that is illuminated indicates the player number (1 to 4).
  5. Repeat for each Wiimote.

When new batteries have been put in both controllers of the wii, indicator lights supposed to indecate power level of batteries instead of which all blue lights flash then stop and nothing happens, no...

If all the lights are coming on then going off again the controller needs to be synched with the wii. Once it is synchronized after all the indicator lights flash one should stay on indicating which player you are (1 -4)
To synch a controller to the wii:
Make sure the wii is in
Open the battery cover on the wiimote
Open the front panel of the wii
Press the synch button on the console
Press the red synch button on the wii mote
Should work for you.
