Check the specification of your MP3 player to determine thetype of video file format it uses. Most common video files that MP3 players use are, AVI andWMV, there may be others such as FLV, MOV and DivX. If your player cannot play a video then it is anincompatible video file format, then you need to convert that video file to aformat that your MP3 player uses. When in doubt, do what the message says.

You have to use the Philips (Arcsoft) Media Converter to convert/transfer videos. If the converter is not recognizing a specific video type - FLV, for instance - download a free program called Riva FLV Encoder and convert the videos to AVI format first. Then the Philips Media Converter will recognize them.

The Philips Media Converter is not capable of converting an entire DVD - you will have to acquire video editing software, and then break up the DVD files into 15-minute chunks, and then convert each chunk.

If you are getting a codec error, do a google search for free video codecs - they are out there. Windows Codec Pack and downloading the latest version of quicktime will give you most of these needed codecs.

This player is not capable of playing copyright-protected videos - so don't even bother with them.

Additional information is available both from Philips website and from Arcsoft's website.

Hi im brandon. i have a go gear philips mp3/mp4 but how do i get videos on my player? if anyone can help me please and thank you cause i download a good movie and i want it on their. it has a video player...

You may have to download Riva Flv Encoder and convert the YouTube videos to AVI format first. Then you have to use the Philips (Arcsoft) Media Converter to convert and transfer video files to the Philips GoGear. Because the software likes to play a preview of the movie, you may have to download additional codecs to make it work. Copyright-protected or DRM-encrypted video files are not compatible with the GoGear.

Philips GOGEAR 4 GB mp3, unable to download videos to it

Merry Christmas Leo! Just got a GoGear for my son and my daughter. I used the bundled application to convert a DIVX AVI file to the Philips GoGear format. Then just open the Windows Explorer, locate the Video folder on the Philips (which should show up as removable drive). Then copy the file over as you would any other data file.

Hi help me

You will have to convert all FLV videos to an AVI format using FLV Encoder or some other free program. Then the media converter will recognize them, and you can transfer them to your GoGear. Copyrighted music videos will not convert no matter what you do.
