You can contact your service provider (customer services helpline) and ask them for the mms and gprs settings. Alternitavely you can go online to your operators official website and click on the get me setting link.
if youre trying to program your alltel phone number on a verizon phone yet keep your alltel service its not going to work. the phones are locked to the carriers and cannot be unlocked. depending on where your cellphone number is based out of your serivce will most likely turn into verizon anyway. but as far as i know right now you cannot use the verizon phones. i could be wrong, i live in an area that is going to become AT&T not verizon.
first, go to this website - http://bushe102.googlepages.com/Moto_flash.htm and download this file - MetroPCS - MPC_V3M_01.1A.00R MONSTER then go to this link and follow the tutorial EXACTLY! - http://www.hacktherazr.com/guides/verizon-razr-v3m-v3c/flashing/flashing-your-phone-general - and it will basically unlock all of the factory features of your V3m, it will use Motorolla's original gui and will be much faster and work better, plus you'll be able to use the internet and send & recieve pictures... make sure you backup all your contacts, photos, videos, anything you don't want to lose, and remove your micro SD memory card if you have one... if you don't do these things then reflashing will erase all of your data... ENJOY!!!
Metroflashing is for VOICE service only, and Verizon's software is not designed for use on Metro's network. In other words, if you don't know how to get into the phone's programming, you cannot set up this phone's user name and password to get on to Metro's data services using the handset. You can, however, use the phone as a dial-up modem for your PC.
Once Metro can come up with a way to access the user name and password of the phone's software, they will then let you get data services (e.g. picture messaging, internet, etc...) on your phone.
yes it can. it IS a CDMA phone and Alltel is a CDMA network. I live in Ohio and activated an old vx9900 i had on my alltel plan. you need to get a csr (call, dont go to store. they are more knowledgeable) to enter the meid into your account. they will know how to do this but the rest will require work from you too. you will have to manually program the phone to work on the network. this is easy if you have a rep that can give you the info to type into the phone. you will open the phone and type "##program9900" and hit send. a screen will come up asking for a code. it is all zeros. go into the first menu setting which is something like service program. this is where the rep will tell you what to type in for the multiple entrys under this menu. they go one at a time and can just be typed over and hit ok. the phone, so far for me, will not send/receive pic and vid messages and you wont be able to d/l apps and tones and use web. just about anything is off limits except call and text. enjoy. its a great phone.
You can use it on Alltel but until the Verizon/Alltel merger is
complete you would only be able to send and receive text messages and
make and receive phone calls. You would NOT be able to access any
program that requires the internet and you would not be able to send or
receive picture messages.
The easiest way to do this is after
you add the ESN to you account is to dial *22801 and press send. It
should say welcome to Alltel and then all you have to do is press 3 to
program your phone and after that is successful you need to Dial *22801
again then press 2 to update your PRL and viola you phone will now be
able to talk and text on your Alltel account
You can either email it (if you have email set up on the phone) or when using activesync press the explore button on the desktop software to get access to the files on the phone. You could also take the memory card (if you have one) out of the phone and use an SD adapter to plug it into the computer and use it as a normal flash card.
Here is how to Send apicture mail... when you click on a picture to send choose an emailaccount and in the "To:" box type the following with the recipientsnumber in place of the MDN (depending on the recipients serviceprovider) :
