the support was of no use
now I even can not use the scanner - says error

  • ciki Mar 11, 2011

    no good

I scan with arcsoft studio - why would canon toolbox make any difference? it was installed on my computer

  • ciki Mar 11, 2011

i used to multi scan until now so my applications are able to handle multi scan. I probably changed something by mistake

  • ciki Mar 11, 2011

I multi scanned till now - so no problem with my application. I probably hit some wrong button
I am getting non relevant answer from you: install canon toolbox? install repair driver that say that I have oudated drivers - on a new computer? will I get a solution that will work?

  • ciki Mar 12, 2011

i use windows xp and the multi scan problem is in Arcsoft Photo studio 5 ( in the simple mode) plus the advanced mode the multi crop and size selection are not enabled

  • ciki Mar 12, 2011

    did you find something useful?

  • ciki Mar 12, 2011

I did everything you said ( the scan gear window did not open in the lower right window but middle). The pictures were scanned as a whole and appeared in the photobase 3 (not arcsoft photostudio5 )/ they were not separated, eventhough I chosed multi scan.

The links did not open on the internet. Can you give me the basic web in which i would follow the other parts of the adress?

  • ciki Mar 12, 2011

The multi crop and size settings in advanced mode in your instructions, are still not enabled.

  • ciki Mar 12, 2011

one of the links is your previous mail the other two guides I have already and read them deeply. If the guides would have solved the multi scan problem I wouldn"t have ask help from you.

By the way, there is a comment in the guide when they mention the multi scan that says that multi scan will not work when some application/// I did not understand that . is this the cause?

    Let's start trouble shooting:

    1. On your scanner, press the Scan-1 button or the Scan-2 button.

    2. A new Scan window will appear, see if the box next to "Use the
scanner driver to make advanced setting" .....is blank or has a check
mark on it. Make sure it has check mark on it..

This category sets whether or not the scan settings
are set with the ScanGear CS scanner driver.

If a check mark is placed in this category, the ScanGear CS window will
open when you click the Scan or Copy button at the window's lower right
corner, allowing you to adjust the scan settings in detail.

The Scanner settings in the Copy window, including the Scan mode, Paper
size, Image quality and Brightness, are disabled. Set them in the ScanGear
    CS window instead.

If there is no check mark in this category, the scan is initiated right
away when the Scan or Copy button in the window's lower right is pressed.

If Multi-Scan is selected in the ScanGear
CS window, the number of image files sent to the application program
corresponds to the number of items on the platen. With the Copy
function, the number of image files sent to the printer corresponds
to the number of items on the platen.

here are some helpful links: copy paste this links on your internet browser.

    2. file:///D:/Downloaded%20files/LiDE2030scanningguide-e/CanoScan/3/2/3/1/06.html

Let me know if this works.

In such cases you can always uninstal the recent driver and install the old one. You will be able to use it back again. Meanwhile, I'm looking for another solution.

In such a case I would recommend you to remove the power cable and data cable of the scanner. Keep it for 15 minutes like that only. Uninstall the driver from your computer. Restart your computer connect your scanner to your computer without installing drivers but to a different port than you used. Install the driver when asked by the window. Re-start your computer and then try multiscanning again.

Try to adjust the scanner resolution

Solution: Adjusting Output (Scan) Resolution (Windows) - MP150 / MP170 / MP450 / MP500 / MP800 / MP950

Adjusting Output (Scan) Resolution By changing the resolution, you can set how clear the image is going to be.
The higher the resolution, the clearer (but the larger) the scanned image is.
The resolution can be changed before scanning. (Note)
If the resolution is doubled, the image data will be quadrupled.
If the data is large, problems such as slow processing speed or lack of memory may occur.

To change standard scan settings using MP Navigator, click here
To change more advanced scan settings using the scanner driver, click here
Using MP Navigator
  1. Place the document face-down on the platen glass.

  2. Launch MP Navigator.
    1. On the Windows desktop, double-click the 'MP Navigator 2.0' icon.
    2. Alternatively, in the Windows taskbar, click 'Start', click '(All) Programs', 'Canon Utilities', 'MP Navigator 2.0' folder, then 'MP Navigator 2.0' icon.

  3. Click 'Scan Photo/Document'.

    05sj00006_01_en.jpg
Display varies according to the printer model.

  4. When the Scan Photo/Document window is displayed, click 'Specify'.

    05sj00006_02_en.jpg
Display varies according to the printer model.

  5. When the Scan Settings window is displayed, select the resolution in Scanning Resolution drop-down.

    05sj00006_03_en.jpg

Select from the following scanning resolutions:
    [Text(OCR)]: 300/400/600
    Other: 75/100/150/200/300/400/600

  6. If necessary, set other items as well.

  7. Click 'OK'.

  8. In the Scan Photo/Document window, click 'Scan' to start scanning.

Using the scanner driver
  1. Launch MP Navigator.
    1. On the Windows desktop, double-click the 'MP Navigator 2.0' icon.
    2. Alternatively, in the Windows taskbar, click 'Start', click '(All) Programs', 'Canon Utilities', 'MP Navigator 2.0' folder, then 'MP Navigator 2.0' icon.

  2. Click 'Scan with Scanner Driver'.

    05sj00006_04_en.jpg
Display varies according to the printer model.

  3. Change the resolution.
According to your purpose, set the resolution in Simple Mode with ease, or in Advanced Mode with a detailed setting.

To set the resolution in Simple Mode:

    (A) Select the 'Simple Mode' tab.

    (B) In Destination drop-down, select the resolution which suits the purpose.

Canon scanner speed slow

Various ways....Try these! the slow problem wil get off

How to change the resolution (Windows)
The precision of printouts can be improved by changing scanning resolution.
The higher the scanning resolution is, the more precise the scanned images are represented, however, the file size gets larger.
The scanning resolution can be changed before scanning photos.
Note: When the scanning resolution is doubled, the image data size will be quadrupled.
When the data size is large, the throughput speed may slow down or may occupy too much of the computer's resources (memory).

Canon CP760 will not recognize images. I loaded

hi,
you can try picasa-the free photo software by google to do all simple photo editing. after editing directly print the photo from the program(rather than transfering to sd card) as this will reduce chances of non-recognition by printer.

Scanning photos into computer at a large size?!

This sounds like you are trying to scan images at a larger size than they actually are?
I am not an expert-(but I have a Mac)-but from what I'm reading, scan your photos at a 300-600 dpi resolution, then use photo editing software to enlarge them. The higher the resolution, the more disk space and the more photo detail (i.e. cracks, dust, scratches, paper type) will be captured, and the more time it will take to scan. Also, for the white, does your scanner allow you to select the area/define borders during the pre-scan? Mine lets me drag borders to just the image area (but capture the image first, then do the cropping and editing to a copy later).

Scanning with Canon Pixma MP450

I just did it then! With help from solution posted Feb 08 leave the acual scanner alone can be done from the computer. Steps:

1. Go to - start - control panel - printers & hardware - scanners.
2. Once inside the scanners folder just click once on the scanner icon (mine is called WIA Canon) so it is highlighted.
3. Then click on the toolbar 'File' > 'scan', then select the correct program from the list (mine was MP Navigator 2).
4. Use the MP Navigator program to select "scan photo/document", follow the instructions. At the bottom if the window that is open you can change the document type to PHOTO or DOCUMENT!

This is where the problem lies it is scanning the document as a photo which is why it is coming out as multiple documents.
