If you are not using any video adapter(Graphics Card):
Your problem may cause due to less aspects or if you have seted ur resolution at the rate which is outta your screen Reso;ution Range. To fix this problem it is recommended to set your screen Resolution at 1024 x 768 Pixels (Standard Setting).

For this You must follow the Following steps:

1. Right click on your Desktop screen.
2. Go to Proprties.
3. Select "Display Setting" tab.

5. Apply the Setting.

Else if you are using any Video Adapter then Follow till step 4.

Dell sx2210 how do I change the size of the screen?

  1. Navigate to the Control Panel in Windows by left-clicking on Start, followed by Settings and then choosing Control Panel.
  2. In the Control Panel window, open Display. Note: In Microsoft Windows , depending on how your operating system is setup, you may not see the Display icon. To correct this, click on the link on the left-hand side of the Control Panel window that saysSwitch to Classic View.
  3. In the Display Properties window, click on theSettings tab.
  4. Locate the Screen resolution slider on the left-hand side of the window. Under most circumstances, the best choice is 800 by 600 pixels or 1024 by 768 pixels, possibly higher if you're using a 19" or larger monitor. The "best" setting is highly subjective to your personal preferences.

My screen doesn't cover the whole face of the monitor's screen. There's a 2 1/2 inch black strip on the left side. Its hard to describe.

Make sure you are running that latest video drivers for your video card and the settings are correct. If you are still having trouble you may have a defective monitor.

Have HP slimline series. Came back from a break.

Try another monitor on it to verify it is the video card that has gone bad. If it does not work with another monitor then that is the likely culprit.

Laptop screen

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Offhand I would venture that your concern could possible be a backlight assuming your have a 17 inch monitor with 2 CCF lamps or the LCD display screen interface. Initially, if at all possible take a snapshot of the display with the half blank. The picture would have to be 150kb max though.

Pls post back as requested. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

When in high def and on the PC the formate buttom on the remote is disabled. The formate will have to be done with the high def remote or through the PC. You will have to contact the high def and the PC provider to adjust the format.

Printing intermediately

When you say print an inch then blank an inch. Does the paper move and the head work and imply leaves blank paper? Or do mean the printer stops a while then picks up from where it left off. Is this a bubble jet?- That is does the cartridge come with the heads built in and a contact strip on the side - Or is it the other sort where the cartridge is an ink tank and the head stays in the machine, but are removable? If you get a completed document but with blanks this is a head problem. If you get a complete full document but the takes breaks this is a computer spooler problem A head problem Take the cartridge and/or head out of machine and stand in a saucers with a tissue damped in a water /alcohol mix -Windex, or car screen wash, even Jack Danials or your favorite spirit. When the tissue is thoroughly discoloured[leave overnight]- replace and give the machine ar un and come back. If it is taking breaks but eventually giving a complete document then check out drivers/Scratch disk and software on the computer.

Picture doesnt fit whole screen

There should be a right and left alighnment on the OSD menu or an auto button to centre the desktop. Also check your screen resolution as 1280x1024 or 1024x768 should be fine.
