Have you tried doing a System Restore? System Restore saves all your data, documents, music, pictures, videos and programs.

System Recovery deletes everything and sets your system back to when you first purchased it.

There are many formats/extensions of videos. Computers and DVD players support different formats but simple mobiles supports only 3gp,mp4,avi formats as their video qualities. You need a video converter software to convert video's formats. For example - Any video converter, Total video converter.

You can buy the songs on iTunes, the music bought and downloaded on iTunes should be in your "Music" folder under iTunes library. Or you can buy your music elsewhere, download and save it to your "My Music" Folder.

Need help clearing the garbage slowing my CPU w/o losing my files

Just copy any wanted documents (pictures, music, videos, etc.) onto your external hdd. As far as Norton or any other programs, you will need to reinstall these after the restore.
After you reinstall the os just copy your things from the external hdd to the appropriate folders.

How to save folders containing files onto a memory stick

using a pen drive is not a tough job

just plug it in to the usb port and wait for a few seconds
*you will see a baloon tip saying found new hardware
*wait untill it says device installion complete
*reboot if neccessary

now go to my computer
*you will see a new drive in it(it is your usb pen drive)
*double click to open it

you can acces it like your normal hard drive partiitions

if you want to copy something to your pen drive then

*right click on the file or folder
*select the option "send to"
*your pen drive will be listed in it
*click on the name of your pen drive
*wait for copying to finish

after that go to my computer open the pen drive and see if the file is copied

you can also delete the files in your pen drive

*select the file
*press delete in the keyboard

Want to use Drive D to go onto the internet.

Easiest thing to do.
You can move all the music and videos to Drive D and save all your music and videos to D when you save from the internet. You can do this just by redirecting your save or download to Drive D. If you don't know how to move them to Drive D, all you have to do is just right click, on the folders where your music and videos are, select cut and then navigate to the Drive D. Then right click inside Drive D and select paste. That is all it is to it. If you have more questions just let me know. Hope this helps.

I have a toshiba A205-S4617 Laptop which had Vista Home Premium . Now i have downgraded it to XP pro sp2 but i am getting some Audio problems. The music and movis playing at half the speed ...it sounds...

OK ! As far as I can tell, (hopefully) you have installed corrupted audio drivers for the laptop. Its an issue that I have come accross 1 month ago. I fixed it by doing the following...

Installing the latest audio drivers for the downgrade of XP.
Installing the latest audio/video codecs for Windows XP.
Installing the latest Direct X redistribute
Uninstalling the windows update:MSWindowsHighDefinitionAudio

These three (Audio/Video Codecs, Audio Drivers and Direct X) are responsible for "decoding" your Movies and Music. If they are outdated or their host application is corrupt, they can cause sum grief to your multimedia.

Also, a very rare issue could be that you're selected (If you are using Windows Media Player 9-11) the speed settings. It could be that the speed settings are set to low. To troubleshoot this, simply download and install 3party apps like WINAMP (for audio) and VLC / VLan Player (for Video) and open your music or video with either one of the mentioned apps...

Trying to download music fom lime wire to my usb port

Alright, In that case all you have to do is to download the music and I believe that you save them on the disk first. Please make a not of the path that you are saving the music or videos to.

Then please open that folder (in case you are using Vista lime wire would by default create a folder called lime wire saved under Users. Now once the file is saved please open that folder and then right click on the files you would like to have on to the USB device that you would like to transfer them and click on send to the drive letter that is mentioned for the USB drive. And it would be copied on to the USB key that you are using.

In case there is any further disconnect... Reply back and I would be glad to be of further assistance.

Regards,

Preeti Mekala.
