When I try to print the message I get "The type of print head is incorrect. Install the correct print head." I have had the printer for some time and have never had a problem before.

Sometimes such errors can pop up when there are errors in the driver software so in most cases the printer driver software can have errors while being in use or is shut down. So to reset remove your printer from the PC and uninstall the printer software. Now reinstall the printer software and then connect the Printer to be detected as a new hardware as it will be installed. Now check the printer properties to see the ink levels.
Activate head cleaning before a test is taken . Sometimes it is possible that the head is not reacting to the need of the PC command or can be an issue with ink drying or
poor ink cartridge contacts.

After installing printer & drivers printer is still showing an error. Error light is flashing and "sel" button will not remove flashing error. Printer has paper installed correctly, ribbon is...

After installing the printer and the software you must reboot the computer to register the hardware changes. After booting up open your "printers" from the Control Panel or Start "settings - printers".
Make sure that the printer is listed. If it is listed, right click on it and select "properties". Now the printer control panel will come up. Select - "Print test page". If the software and cables are installed correctly the printer will be listed and it will print the test page.
In the same way, with a right click on the printer you can select to make it your "Default" printer.

New operating systems will see the new hardware and offer to install it for you. If you say yes and OK the computer will do an internet search and it should find the correct drivers for your operating system. If it does not find the correct drivers for your operating system you may have to the companies web page and select support - downloads and find your correct driver.
