Question about Intel D945GTP Motherboard

3 Answers

Pierdolony MDG with d945gtp is locked by system manufcturer.

I apparently bought a system thats not paid off yet. I got a nasty surprise recently when this system asked me to pay it off before I can use it... The protection is apparently on the MB somewhere but there is no socketed bios so I'm thinking I'll have to get a new MB. UNLESS !!!! any of u gurus got an idea how to circumvent that protection without changing MB?

I have no troble getting into the bios or resetting it. This protection is not a simple bios password. It is more like a windows product key... I have tried changing boot order and booting from usb flash, network, cd and another HD with unix and dos but no dice. The protection kicks in before any boot devices get activated. Paying it off is not an option, since it'll be cheeaper just to get a new MB but I've put computers together from scratch for the last 15 yrs. and I've never been stumped like this. but thanks for your input and if you think you gotc a good one feel free to post more ideas.

Make 100% sure this is a BIOS (to be honest I cannot see how it can be), or MBR/operating system issue.
Take out the harddrive and substitute it with a fresh formated hardrive, if the warning does not appear then you can safely assume it is on your harddrive and a zero fill and reinstall will cure it, if it does appear then it is in the BIOS on the CMOS chip.
I am going to research your motherboard to see if there is a BIOS firmware update available that will hopefully overwrite your BIOS completely.

The password is in your bios there are at least 2 things to try
1) reset bios on motherboard will bewritten reset bios or words to that effect nearby will be a small 2 or 3 pin jumper setup
2) with 2 pin remove the jumper from the pin its on and fit over both pins for 20/30 seconds replace jumper back over 1 pin (not lose) and reboot
3) 3 pin remove jumper from the 2 pin it it on and fir over middle pin and the pin it was not on pins 1/2/3 jumper on pins 1/2 fit over 2/3for same amount of time
With both reboot and see if it works
Other method
Get Hirens boot cd Download burn to cd this has a lot of different programs on it some are for changing passwords etc
you will have to follow instructions etc
If non work I am get back and we will try something else if does work please post rating

Format the hard drive to remove any unwanted items off the Operational Sytem. Do not use the system restore disk they provided . Or pay off the system .

You need to download the Intel XP 64 bit drivers for this system.
This intel site will do it automatically for you. http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/highlights/dsktpboards/d945gtp
Look about 1/3 way down for Automatically detect and update drivers and software
If this answers your question, I'd appreciate 4 thumbs. I do this for fun and do not get paid.
