If the JVC flat screen have CD driver, install it first in your PC. Connect the screen until you get notification there are new devices found by PC. Set monitor appearance from Control Panel > Hardware > Monitor. Set one active or both monitor active (some model only support one active monitor).

Hope this help.

Try pressing Fn + F5 on your laptop to output the TV. Alternatively, on the display driver of your laptop there is a properties to use as a dual output.

I am trying to connect my Hanns G monitor to my new hp laptop but nothing is happening. I am using a vga/hdmi cable

Unless your cable has a digital-to-analog converter inline, it most likely won't work. There are a lot of fly-by-night manufacturers out there selling cables with a VGA connector one one and an HDMI connector on the other end. 99% of them are pure scam! The HDMI connection is a digital connection. The VGA connection is an analog connection. A straight-thru cable cannot make the conversion, thus the two devices cannot communicate.

Conecting computer to view screen

Hello
Your JVC Tv has AV & Component video inputs only. No direct connection facillty with computer is there. Computers outputs VGA stream video. VGA stands for Vodeo Graphics Arrey. This video stream cannot be connected directly to your JVC set. There are sets, which have this facility, but your set have not.
If you want to connect this set to computer, you have to buy one converter [VGA to RCA out], from open electronic sparepart selleing shops at your town. It will not cost more.
If you have this converter, you can connect your computer directly to the VGA converter, using a VGA to VGA cable, and the output from the converter by RCA connecting wire to TV. In short, the converter will be in between TV and Computer.
VGA to Video converter will look somewhat like this. OK.

Laptop to tv

Your model laptop has S-Video out capabilities. Depending on what model TV you are connecting to, you would then need an S-Video to (whatever input connection your TV supports: S-Video, VGA, RCA, HDMI) cable. Once you have the cable connected, set your TV to the input method for the cable used, and press Fn + F4 on your laptop Keyboard to project the image over. May need tp press more than once depending if you wish to only display on one screen or both. S-Video is only a video out cable, so you will alos need to run an audio connector cable from your laptop to TV as well, or just use a pair of external laptop speakers for your sound.

You can connect any HDMI or VGA (15 pin) compatible monitor or TV, almost every monitor has VGA connector or VGA adapter at the end of connector and you can use it.

Connect Laptop to TV

It depends on what kind of TV you have. If you have a flat-panel LCD or plasma TV, it may have a VGA connection already installed. If that is the case, all you need is a standard VGA cable to connect from your notebook to your TV.

If you have a TV without a VGA connection you will need a scan converter to convert your signal from VGA to RCA or composite video signal. These can be purchased online or from electronics stores like Radio Shack. You plug your VGA connection from the computer to the scan converter, then RCA or composite video cables from the converter to the TV.

Hope this helps. Please take a moment to rate this solution. Thanks.
