I have an older Toshiba TV that I recently have had repaired, thus, I had to disconnect and have to re-program the cable channels again. The problem is, I had to buy a new remote, and have to do this by pushing buttons on the tv. I am having problems; what am I doing wrong? thanks.

In one of my very last videos before my old account was spontaneously shut down, I covered a decent 52" DLP ...
U get a channel numder and menu screen do show up?Not the tv,it the incomming broadcasting signal cable plug in or the cable box itself have problems.Tries unplug,replug the tv and the cable box back in like about an hour later.The tv will reset itself to the factory setting and the cable box should upgraded it softwares.Should work now.If have the same problems,tell the cable company change the cable box or check the incomming broadcasting cable wire with another tv,see the incomming broadcasting signal cable wire,with a new cable box,see if it work.
Typically the cable box is the source of your channel programming. If you're getting the "no programs available" you need to find if that notice is from your TV or your cable box. Check the connections from your cable source to the cable box and from the cable box to your TV. Make sure that your TV is set on the proper source selection. Most Projection TV's have several (ant, cable A, B, DVD etc) check your on-screen menu for which one and make sure the cable is connected to the proper input ports on the back of your TV. If you disconnect the cable between the tv and cable box and still get the "no programs "...then it's your TV.. but if you lose that warning, then it's coming from the cable box... If after checking your connections, disconnect the power to your cable box and let it sit for 5 minutes and then reinsert the power to the box and see if you get a reset with signal...... If nothing after all this, contact your cable provider to check their signal to your house and also the cable box.... Hope you have quick success on this!
It could be the board or the speakers itself.
Check see if ur air tv have any crackles?
If not u can rule it out the speakers.
Tries it with diffrent cables,see what happen.

It sounds like you have the closed-captioning set to "text" mode. When set this way, if captioning is present the set clears the area where the text goes. You don't see the box on channels or programs where captioning isn't being used. On most TV remotes a single button controls captions, so it's easy to get into text mode without knowing it.
I've seen simmilar problems with the toshiba cable card compatability.. however we could never solve (replacing all parts,etc). It is either the tuner of the television malfunctioning at a very specific frequency, a very specific interference, or a programming/software issue between toshiba and cable provider. The first is repairable with parts, the second two are not good. With either you'd have to keep complaining to the manufacturer and cable company, both of which will likely get you now where. They make more $ on that cable box..
bring up the menu screen the tv and auto program the channels this lock out all un wanted and only allow the rf tuner input channel from the box if your using rf cable hook up,if not un plug the unit for 1 min. and try it again.
