I contacted technical support through Helio's carrier (Virgin Mobile) and here is what I learned: Dear Jennifer , Thank you for contacting Helio by Virgin Mobile. We are sorry that you are having issues sending and receiving picture messages on your phone. We are having some system updates and that is causing you not to be able to do some of the data services on your phone. We expect the issue to be resolved in the next 24-48 hours. youll have to find someone with a helio account to activate or "switch" the phone for you. from there on, once you have access to the dialling, do as instructed by your phone company.
You need to call Helio, they have to confirm that YOU are the owner of the phone and then they will unlock it. The reaon your phone locked up is because you tried to figure out a security code too many times. Call them from a house phone or seperate phone other than the phone you are having problems on so they can fix it. Sorry about the problems your having!!!

no such thing as "helio cricket" lmao! you got to flash the phone over to cricket. why would you want to do that to our poor phones anyway? all the features from helio are USELESS when flashed over to cricket. save your money and get a real Helio plan.
it seems to be a common problem on the helio, luckily i haven't had to deal with it. most problems seem to be fixed by clearing the cache in the browser.
another option, download opera. it's a hack, but a much better browser than the supplied one.
