Question about Electrolux Vacuums

1 Answer

Hello, My Electrolux Renaissance is about 12 years old. It worked great for years, but now it keeps turning itself off...about every 15 seconds or so. The bag was just changed recently, too. Is there an easy, (and cheap) fix or should I start shopping for a new one?? Thanks!

Odds are you have an obstruction somewhere. Check all of the hoses and the power head to ensure that there is nothing blocking your airflow.

Also note that if it keeps popping the front bag door open, that's usually indicative of either the bag being full or not being installed properly, which can give you the same results, so try taking the bag out and popping it back in just to make sure everything is aligned correctly.

I have a renaissance cansiter vacuum. When I plug in the canis ter no hose attached, it does not come on like it shouldn't , however when I attached the hose and wand I turn it on it will start to ru

It is running properly if you are doing what you say you are.
It should NOT run without the hose and should with it plugged in if the electronics in the hose and vac are working properly. This was the major problem with the Renaissance Model and was only manufactured for a few years.
With 30 yrs. experience dealing almost exclusively with the original Electrolux, I have a legitimate store front business and do service by mail at a reasonable cost if interested. mickeymackmark1@yahoo.com
Hope that helps! Mick

Electrolux Vacuum Renaissance Power head brush won't turn

if it is making a humming sound but not turning you belt is broken, if it is not check the reset switch (little res button) if that doesnt work check the connections between the cord of the powerhead and the wand, the wand and the hose, and the hose and the vacuum
give the hose itself a good look over sometimes the wires up by the grip break in the casing

How do you replace the 'after filter' in the electrolux guardian?

1. Press latch and open the door that covers the tools.
2. Squeeze clips at front of tool tray, lift and remove.
3. Remove filter.
4 Replace filter.
5. Replace tool tray and close door..

Instructions can be found in the Renaissance manual, which you can download from the following site. Go to "older models", find Renaissance and click on it, then click "download". Instructions are on page 9. The Renaissance is basically the same model as the Guardian.

LUX RENAISSANCE WONT TURN ON. HOSE CONTROL BAG LIGHT IS ON

Could be the board in the handle but I found that a lot of the times the contacts where the handle meets the hose just need to be cleaned. It could also be a clogged hose but I'd say it's one of the other two.

Electrolux Renaissance canister

there are a couple situations to this issue. one is the bag that was replaced is a incorrect one and it is not meeting the switch for the bag pop circuit. some over the counter bags cause this issue. another problem could be the switch itself. or the bag door not being tight enoug to make contact with the bag.

No power when I plug into outlet

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. You may have 3 problems that I can see. You may have a bad electrical outlet, but I doubt it, the bad cordwinder cord or a short in the cordwinder itself, or a connection came loose in the motor section. If you need further assistance then contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or contact the Electrolux factory listed below. . So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Electrolux Renaissance Hose Replacement

Notice how the hose has a groove just around the outer edge of the gray plastic near the white plastic insert. The hose is held into the handle buy two "tongues" inserted into this groove. One of these tongues is on the end of the top plastic piece of the handle. The second is on the piece of plastic that is slid into the little hole at the base of the handle and it is visible in the picture.

To remove the first, you'll have to remove the two screws in the top of the handle that hold the top plastic piece. This can be a challenge unless you have the right tool. It's essentially a hex-star allen wrench tool that is required, I'm guessing about 1/16 inch. I had one in my tool box that fit. Remove the screws and pop the top plate off. This frees the first tongue from the groove. Now, just get a screw driver (or use your finger) to press the plastic piece inserted in the hole at the bottom of the handle. Press from the "t" side and this should slide right out. Now your hose will slide right out of the handle and you can replace the old with new. Re-insert the small plastic insert, and refasten the top plastic piece of the handle and you're good to go.

Electrolux EL7055 just stopped

They aren't quality machines, they are made by Eureeka, not Electrolux. Aerus/ Electrolux is really the way to go!
