Question about Fujitsu Siemens SCALEO 600 (FSP:83C005617) PC Desktop

PC Re-Boots My midi tower will not boot when it is cold as it continiously re-boots. If I get the system to warm up sometimes it will boot and last about 10 minutes before it reboots. I have enabled the POST and no faults are being reported and if I leave it run in the BIOS set up it will sit there all day. It is only when I start to load the OS that the problem exists. Also if I boot from a CD for XP it will sit on the Welcome to Setup screen all day but if I try to repair or install it re-boots again. Could this be a memory problem ?

It could. you want to download memtest86 from http://www.memtest86.com/memtest86-3.5.iso.zip
you need to download this and burn it to a cd using a ISO burning software. (basically means when you burn this to a cd, it will be able to boot from this disc on startup.) once you have the disc, put it in the tray and restart the computer having issues. on the splash screen for the motherboard, it should give you an option to pick your boot device, pick the cd/dvd rom drive and it should load the test if everything was done properly. after that, you will know if mem is bad or not

There are a couple of quick fixes you can do.

First, boot into Safe Mode (Repeatedly tap the F8 key while the system is booting, before the windows logo appears) A Menu will pop up, press Boot Into Safe Mode. From there you can try a System Restore to a known good date.

System Restore - Click Start -> Control Panel -> On the top right, type "System Restore" without the quotes. Click on "Restore system files and settings from a restore point". You can choose the recommended restore or a specific date.

The other option is to boot into "Last Known Good Configuration". To do this, use the F8 trick again while booting, but instead of Safe Mode choose "Last Known Good Configuration".

Please note that either of these run a risk of some data being lost from the time the restore point was made. You "shouldn't" lose anything but just want to make you aware.

If this helps, please give a positive rating.

The laptop when booting up stops after the BIOS screen and then only shows a non-blinking cursor in the upper left of the screen. This happens everytime I try to start the machine at either warm or cold...

Hi, there is a possibility its trying to boot from a disc in the cd drive, if theres a disc in the drive remove it and try booting again as this can sometimes affect boot up, if this desn't work try repeatidly pressing F8 as the the laptop boots, a menu should appear with a few options on, using the arrow keys select boot using last know good configuration press enter and see if that fixes things, if not do the same again but his time select safe mode only, you might get lots of large icons etc but thats normal, then from your start menu/all programs select your virus program and do a virus scan on your hardrive.

If this doesn't work and all other avenues have been tried you could try a system restore using the F8 method

Hope this helps

Media Center m7060n PC Desktop: My m7060n Tower turns on, but the key board blinks...

It sounds like you have a board that is not booting at all. Remove everything from the board except the system RAM and CPU and switch it on. If it boots now, shut it down and then replace each individual item one at a time, booting the machine after each item is refitted/connected until you fit something that prevents the machine from booting. Pay special attention to system RAM sticks by removing them/it and refitting it as bad connections in the RAM socket can also cause a boot failure but removing and refitting the sticks usually cures this issue.

My Computer Does Not Boot

If your system is still not holding the date and time after changing out the CMOS battery, then ther is what is called a "cold" solder joint on the motherboard thjat might work, as you mentioned, after the system is warm.
However, sicne the system does boot up and operate later, it is more likely that the power supply has the issue and is not delivering power properly until it stabalizes.
Get a replacement PS, just make sure that it has at least the same wattage as the original one. You don't even have to physically install it at first, just swtich all the connections from the old one to the new one and see if the system comes up right away. It is does, then do the swap. If not, you can return it and replace the motherboard.
