PC Re-Boots

My midi tower will not boot when it is cold as it continiously re-boots. If I get the system to warm up sometimes it will boot and last about 10 minutes before it reboots.
I have enabled the POST and no faults are being reported and if I leave it run in the BIOS set up it will sit there all day. It is only when I start to load the OS that the problem exists.
Also if I boot from a CD for XP it will sit on the Welcome to Setup screen all day but if I try to repair or install it re-boots again. Could this be a memory problem ?

- I have the same problem, in DOS the pc is running continously, byt in OS or trying to reinstall, it always reboots at the same point, when configuring the language settings or network card or similar, I have checked the hdd, and the memory w dos-software (memtest x86 and others) and it is running OK. could it be the mainboard?- zuper_manSolution #1

it could. you want to download memtest86 from http://www.memtest86.com/memtest86-3.5.iso.zip
you need to download this and burn it to a cd using a ISO burning software. (basically means when you burn this to a cd, it will be able to boot from this disc on startup.) once you have the disc, put it in the tray and restart the computer having issues. on the splash screen for the motherboard, it should give you an option to pick your boot device, pick the cd/dvd rom drive and it should load the test if everything was done properly. after that, you will know if mem is bad or not
