This is an efficient, easy-to-use tool to help you figure out the details that make your computer tick. BIOS Agent is a lightweight freeware application with a clean and well-designed interface that lets you get the information you need with only a few button clicks.
The program can retrieve information on the type of BIOS your computer runs and chipset type, as well as information on CPU, ROM, and RAM. Once you've gathered the details you need, you can save the report in TXT format or print it. There's no installation required for BIOS Agent. This program will be useful for administrators or power users looking to keep their systems up to date.
hope this helps

XP can't recognize SCSI Ultra320 hard Drive

First, determine if your "motherboard" will support a SCSI hard drive interface. The type of SCSI drives that are available are Wide Ultra SCSI (40MB/sec), Wide Ultra 2 SCSI (80MB/sec), Ultra 160 SCSI (160MB/sec) and Ultra 320 SCSI (320MB/sec). Today's standard for SCSI drives is the SCA SCSI which has an 80 pin female cable to drive information from the drive to the system board.

Set the jumpers. The drive should have jumpers on it that were set by the manufacturer. Setting the jumpers allows the drive to be recognized by your computer's hardware. If the jumpers have not been set, you will need to set the jumper of the primary drive to "Master," and if you are installing a secondary drive, the jumpers would be set to "Slave." The master drive is the drive that the computer boots to first when it starts up. The jumpers are pins located on the block or end of the hard drive.Resetting the BIOS default should make the system recognize the drive. Or Press F6 to install third-party SCSI drivers.

I have a GX 280 and get the mesage ultra 100 is not installed. I do have a promise card installed. I cannot get to bios

ultra ata 100.. ide cable .. may be bad.. or the controller on the motherboard is causing the issue

try to pull the ide cable off the board.. do ya see the bios then???

if so first replace with a different 80pin ide cable.. or buy a new one..

test the drives attached to the ide ribbon gray cable in another chassis... if the all is good.. and you still can not reach the bios..

use the clear cmos or bios directions on the gx280 manual online at dell

else the motheboard has gone bad

I need to install an operating system on a Samsung q1 ultra

Suggest you use an external DVD drive, and put your installation disk in it. Then access the BIOS Setup utility.

In BIOS Setup, find the Boot Order menu. (Generally, along the top headings of the main menu, in BIOS Setup, or located in Advanced BIOS Settings) Set the first boot device to be CDROM. Be sure to Save your change.
This way the handheld, will boot from the installation disk, in your external DVD drive.

Should you be trying to downgrade from Vista to XP, you have to change the first boot device, in Boot Order to CDROM. If not, Vista won't let you overwrite it.
Vista is an upgrade over XP.

Dell Precision 340 will not boot past the bios

It is possible that one of the drives are causing the proble. Disconnect all drives Hard drives, CD, DVD, BLUERAY,Floppy etx and turn the system on if it boots then shut it down and connect the drives one at a time until you find the one at fault.. If this fails then the problem resides in the main board itself, YOu said you cleard the cmos, try reseating the processor (removing and then putting it back) then flashing the bios (clear the cmos) ,, if that fails then you may need to replace the mainboard.

Can not install windows xp

hubag, you need to check your bios. At boot up, press the delete key every 2 seconds & your bios will load. Make sure your SATA drive, (s) are listed example: {if your SATA drive is a Seagate the bios will show it as: ST3250823AS}. You should unplug any IDE hard drives connected to the system while installing Win XP. The Southbridge integrates a Serial ATA host controller that is SATA v1.0 compliant, supporting Ultra DMA 150 (SiS964 only). If you do not have your manual you can download it here at:
http://www.ecsusa.com/ECSWebSite/Downloads/ProductsDetail_Download.aspx?detailid=392&DetailName=Manual&DetailDesc=&CategoryID=1&MenuID=6&LanID=9
661FX-M(V1.0B)
Once the bios is set & see's your SATA drive so will windows.
If you can not set your bios to list your SATA drive windows will never install on your SATA drive. You can also use the above link & down load drivers, including a RAID driver.

M7NCD ULTRA raid drivers

If the SATA drive is operating in 3.0 Gbps mode and your motherboard can only support 1.5 Gbps mode, the drive will not be detected in BIOS or XP. Try jumpering the drive to SATA 1.5 Gbps mode. The label on your hard drive should indicate which pins should be shorted to achieve this setting; if not, look up your particular model on WD's website to find the manual.
