Turn off your computer, and boot into safe mode. to boot into safe mode follow these steps: turn on your computer, press F8 rapidly and BEFORE the windows icon comes on screen. you should get an all text screen. use the arrows on you keyboard to highlight and select "safe mode with networking." let it boot up and then it will come to sign in screen. there might be an administrator account shown here. if you do not have administrative rights, use the administrator account. now open up your browser and navigate to these websites -- http://www.malwarebytes.org/ & http://www.superantispyware.com/ download the free versions of these programs and install. once installed and definitions are updated, run full scans with both of these. wait for BOTH to finish scanning then reboot. after this all viruses should be removed. after rebooting uninstall malwarebytes, superantispyware, spybot, and any other antivirus program you had installed before. now install microsoft security essentials for best virus protection.http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/ i suggest getting a better, faster,and more secure browser such as google chrome. http://www.google.com/chrome/intl/en/landing_chrome.html?hl=en
now you can enjoy your computer without having to worry about viruses.

That's not good. Keep it outside and treat it with Diatomaceous Earth. It's a natural powder and it works! You can buy it online. If not interested in that option, take it back to the S.A. They should understand and refund your money.

Copy the EI directory to your hard drive, no need to install the game.
It might be necessary to add the line
cdDir = ?
whereas ? is the letter of the CD ROM drive, to the Ei.cfg file, otherwise your team dies after 10 minutes.

How to repair : smart failure predicted on Hard Disc 0 : WDC WD3200BEVT-22ACT0-PM on Packard bell laptop

You have the S.M.A.R.T. virus infestation. There is nothing wrong with your hard drive.

You can try to remove the infestation yourself by following the steps below or as I recommend to most everyone who gets this particular virus. Bring it to a pc shop that specializes in virus removal for a set price. I strongly recommend bringing it to a expert because this is a very tough infestation to remove. If you try and remove it yourself you are very unlikely to remove all of the virus infestation and might not be able to recover any missing program Icons that have already disappeared.

If you feel lucky then here you go:

Start your PC and press F8 several times until the boot menu comes up. Then select "Safe Mode with Networking". Now get some or ALL of the FREE programs below.

Download, Install and Run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware:

When Installing choose the non-pro version.

If you have an outdated Anti-virus program then Download, Install and Run Avira Anti-Virus:

Computer keeps shutting down for no reason. anytime you start up it has to go through several different screens. which takes about 10-15 minutes. computer is an Acer Aspire 5100.

You need to let us know what screens keep coming up. The only screens SHOULD be the initial POST screen (which is usually black with info about your system), then the windows start up screen. Then your desktop should show. If there are numerous screens popping up after this - are they browser screens (ie. Internet Explorer or Firefox)? If so, you're probably infested with spyware.
BTW - some systems hide the POST screen with their own logo, like Compaq.
Send more info, and it will help in fixing this.
