This happens when your TV's capacitors become weak and cannot charge up to full potential.
You will notice bulging capacitors on the circuit board. They will need replacement and make sure they are not only of the same value but also of the same grade !!

I have a 55" proscan TV and when I plug it in it just makes this constant clicking sound and it won't turn on.can you tell me what the problem is?

Hi Bryant,
Constant clicking means the power on sequence is not getting complete. Mostly it is due to problem in power supply board. I have replaced the main board also for this fault in a Samsung 46'' led.

I have a Samsung LCD tv approx 4 year old. When u come to switch it on the standby light flashes and makes a click as though it is switching on then it'll click again and switch off. It will go through...

There is a problem with the power supply, which may be due to bad electrolytic capacitors. Alternatively, there may be a bad relay in the power supply.

LCD Screen problem

You have a failed inverter circuit. This is a very common fault with BenQ and other LCD monitors. I have seen more FP737 and FP731's and all their cousins in the last 2 years then I care to count.

You will be best to take it to a TV technician and have them do the repair. There are ways to fix it yourself, but the chances of success are not great without a decent amount of electronic knowledge.

Call several places and get approx quotes based on the inverter fault. A lot of TV techs will not work on LCD monitors and is another good reason to call around first.

One final thing, check the manufacture date on the back of the monitor, these normally come with a 3 year warranty and it will be either expired now, or very close to it. If it is still under warranty, then contact BenQ near you to facilitate the repairs.

BenQ support webpage.
