Hello, W/D here.

Bummer! It will have to be dried out in order to give it another chance at life. I have had very good luck using a hair dryer and a cardboard box. With electronics, they need to be perfectly dry; moist won't do. You can accelerate the process somewhat by using the hair dryer with the projector out of the box, and drying through the vents, moving the hair dryer around, getting it as dry as you can. The box method is just to get the remnants of water and moisture that you cannot see to dry.If at all possible, place a cardboard box around it, or take it down and place in a box. Cut a hole in the sidewall of the box, a little above the bottom of the box, and place the barrel of the dryer in the hole and not impinging on the projector. Cut a similar hole on the upper, opposite side of the box (catty-cornered) for the warm, moist air to escape. Start the dryer on medium (not hot) heat and warm the projector up. Do not leave the process unattended, for obvious reasons. Check the vent for warm air escaping, and look in on the projector from time to time to make sure that the heat isn't causing any harm to the case. You don't want the heat too high, or blowing directly on the projector.
Best regards, --W/D--

Repair basement ceiling from toilet overflow

If the toilet that overflowed had liquid and or solid human waste in it at the time of the overflow, then it is considered "black water" and a biohazard. You could let it dry out, but you may experience foul odors. It is best to open up the ceiling, clean the area, and repair if this is the case.

Toilet upstairs sometimes drains when the one downstairs is flushed.

It could be a blocked vent.when the downstairs toilet flushes it draws air down the drain with the wastewater. The vent is suppose to supply air to make up for this. If the vent is blocked or there is no vent. Air is drawn from the easiest place ,in this case through the upstairs toilet, drawing the water out of the toilet trap with it. In northern climates the vents sometimes frost shut causing the problem you describe. Hope this helps.

The color seems to be fading. There is a dull yellowish tint to everything it plays.

The tint you are seenig is most likely the lcd panels developing thermal damage due to the projector being improperly shut down. The projector should always be shut down using the remote or the power button on top of the projector. OR if this projector is ceiling mounted it could have blocked ventilation or if used in a smoky environment it could be smoke stained.

My toto toilet was installed with the seal which came with it. A leak started in the downstairs suite and when the plumber lifted the toilet off the floor he said it needed a wax seal as well as the rubber...

That should work. Sometimes if the space between the bottom of the fixture and the top of the collector ring is too large, (ie: the addition of flooring) one can double up on the wax rings also.

Toilet leaks into floor and lower level ceiling, no water on bathroom floor.

Either wax ring or sewage pipe is leaking. If you cant open the ceiling from below to look for leak you may have to remove toilet inspect pipe and look to see if it was leaking from wax ring and if it could have gone downstairs without leaking out too. If leak couldn't have come from wax ring the leak must be coming from a pipe in the floor. Find the simplest way to access it to repair it.

Downstairs toilet won't stop filling, upstairs toilet won't fill

for the upstairs if the valve is fully on there is not much you can do other than replace water service to the house or heaven forbid repipe.Valves usually don't restrict fill volume. But you can take the supply loose from the tank and stick it in a bucket turn the valve on and check the flow.this should narrow it down.Down stairs repair or replace flush valve

Water is leaking from my downstairs air conditioning vent

I seriously doubt it's the AC. It may be the draing in the upstairs shower, If it's a water line it is a very small leak and is probably puddling in you ceiling. if not nbeing absorbed. Best thing is contact your homeowners insurance because you are going to not only have a plumber to deal with , but a mols issue as well. Sorry, good luck.
