Use windows 7,but the sound driver cannot be installed, though by using vista ultimate it can be,

Hi amvee_711
You need to download the W7 compatible sound driver from the manufacturer's site .
Try to identify the missing driver(s) whith a motherboard explorer tool , like Speccy from http://download.cnet.com/Speccy/3000-2094_4-75181811.html or Sandra from http://download.cnet.com/SiSoftware-Sandra/3000-2086_4-10556571.html
Look also in the device manager , click on " display adapters " and double - click on the shown one to update the driver .
You could also try on the motherboard manufacturer's site and look for on board hardware .
It' s not always that easy to find what you are looking for but with a little patience , your issue is always to be fixed .
Windows can also search for you on the net but I suppose you already have tried that .
Best regards ,
fanaudi

No sound

It is possible you may not have a sounds driver installed. Check out your manufactures website and look for a " drivers and support" section and look up sound drivers for your model. Try installing that and see if you get sound back. Let me know how this goes. Jeff from fixya

Sir i installed windows xp in my pc but the sound is not coming so what should i do

You do not have your sound drivers installed. If its built-in sound(in your computer, or on your monitor) look up the manufacturer and the model, and look for sound drivers on their website.

If its speakers, and they did not require drivers before, your sound card is what needs the driver. If you have never opened your computer, bought it like it is now, then look up your computers brand and then the model on the manufacturers website.

If its a custom built machine, open it and look for the sound card. write down the manufacturer and model number, and repeat the above steps.

Hope this helps!

No sound, says driver not installed

Then look inside the case and see what's written on the sound card itself. If it's built-in to the motherboard instead, then look at the motherboard model number, (clue: it will look like a model number, not a 'J4' or such) and look up the driver from there.
Google is useful at that point.

My computer has no sound becouse i have changed my operating system(vista to xp)how can i slove this problem?

Hi,
You would have to find and install the sound drivers for your sound card, that compatible with windows xp.
If you are using an assemble PC , try looking for drivers on the motherboard manufacturer website.
If you are using a company fitted machine , look on the vendor website
If its a add on sound card , like creative, soundblaster or realtech, look for the on drivers on there specific websites.

Thanks

Driver xp

What driver are you looking for. When Xp is installed it loads a lot of different sound drivers. If you are looking for the drivers for the motherboard try the manufactures webpage for them. If you can't find them there open my computer and click on the hardware tab and click on the yellow ? and click update driver. Windows will look for the drivers online and install them for you. If you have an aftermarket sound card, goto the boards web page and download them from there.
