Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console
The first thing to do (if possible) is to switch to a wired connection if you currently connecting to a wireless network.
If that is not possible or doesn't work, go to "System Options," "Network Settings," and disable "Media Server." This will fix the problem the majority of the time.
If worse come to worse and none of the above solutions work then your only other option is to download the update from Sony's website on your PC and save it on a flash drive, then install it from the drive.

Tips for a great answer:
80710723 Possible Port Error - Try opening ports , TCP port: 80, 443, 5223 and UDP port: 3478, 3479, 3658. or add Ps3 to DMZ
You really might want to try creating the connections again on your PS3 system on the same modem/router you are using.
Just re-configure you connection settings and see if that helps.
