Question about Kodak EASYSHARE 5500 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Printer Since an automatic upgrade, my printer keeps telling me there is no paper in the tray, and spitting pages out w/o printing on it, what happened? It didn't do that when I first got it.

Firmware upgrades can sometimes do this but normally it is a pretty simple fix. Unplug the printer from the outlet. Plug it in and try it again. Restarting the computer may help as well. If this does not work get back to me.

How do you get the cannon pixma mg8120 to print using the rear paper feed? should I lay in the paper with the print facing me?

The printer automatically chooses the back tray when you specify in your printer setting that you are printing a photo. You can also tell the printer that you want it to print using the tray setting specifically. You do this by going into your printer setup. Find the tab or button that says page setup. From here, you can specify the source for the printer whether is the cassette or the tray. As for the paper, the print faces back (away from you).

My HP P2015DN only prints one page at a time. If I have a 5 page document, the first page prints and then I must print the go button for each page to print.

Is the paper feeding from the manual tray or tray 2. If you are printing from tray 2 and have this problem then it is likely that your driver or software is looking for different paper types than you have loaded in the printer. For example, if you have plain paper in tray 2 and your software wants to print on letterhead, then the printer will stop after each page and by pressing the button you are telling the printer that it is ok to print on different paper. If you have the paper in the manual feed tray (tray 1) then I would check to make sure you are telling the pirnter to print to tray 1 and not manual feed when you send a print job.

My samsung CLX2160N keeps printing with no ink on the pages and even though I print one page it just keeps spitting paper..also the green drum in the printer appears to be covered in black ink

If the toner is not empty and you notice that the toner assembly is dirty with print dust, then it probably is an issue of transfer corona failure. You will have to replace the entire printing mechanism. But before you go out and cash out over $200 for the new assembly it's best that you take the printer back to the shop where you purchased it. The print assembly warrants over 50.000 printouts, and if you haven't printed out so much it may still be under factory warranty.
If you haven't used the printer too much (never replaced toners, never printed out over 500 pages total) then there's an easy way to verify if the transfer corona is really the problem. Pull out the print assembly and check to see if the waste toner tank is full/overfilled. If it is brimm-full then you're definitely facing a bad transfer corona and you will have to replace the entire mechanism, or find a good repair technician that can fix the existing one.
Another possibility would be if there is some dust on the paper and you can see some of the print powder on the exit tray. If there is print dust on the exit tray that means that the fuser is not working. If the papers that are coming out of the printer are cold then this is deffinitely a fuser failure, and you're still stuck with either repairing the print assembly or cashing out for a new one.
About the problem with the printer spilling out paper all the time, see if you've set the printer to print A4/Letter size printouts or it's set to print infinite paper track (like those old paper formats we see on old 80's movies). Either way, the no print and the paper spitting are not related issues.

Trying to print but it ask me to load paper or form feed. also got a bypass tray message.

Sound like the computer printer preferences "paper source" is set to bypass if set to "auto select" select the tray you want. Also make sure type of paper matches what is in printer.

Somebody has messed with the settings and now whenever we print we have to press "Select" for each page

The tray 1 is same as manual tray, it opens in front of you.
normally (in windows) you need to configure printer driver from printers => properties => printing preferences.

Canon MP6oo paper tray empty

Issue: "The selected paper size is not supported by your printer..." appears after selecting the Paper Size in the printer driver.
Solution: Use Fit-to-Page Printing (Windows)

Use Fit-to-Page Printing (Windows) The Fit-to-Page function automatically resizes the image to fit the size of the page being used. Letter size image data, for example, will automatically be printed on 4" x 6" size paper. Paper sizes larger than the printer can handle will be available on the Page Setup of the printer driver but will not print unless the Fit-to-Page function is enabled. Note: The Fit-to-Page Printing function is not available when Borderless Printing is selected.
  1. Access the printing preferences by opening the printer Properties / Preferences:

    For Windows Vista
    • Click / Select 'Start' from the bottom left of the Windows screen, 'Control Panel', 'Hardware and Sound', and then click on 'Printers'. Note: If you are in 'Classic' view, Click 'Printers' directly from the 'Control Panel'.
    • Click your right mouse button on the listing for your printer, and then select 'Preferences' from the menu that appears.
    For Windows XP Home Edition
    • Click / Select 'Start' from the bottom left of the Windows screen, 'Control Panel,' 'Printers and Other Hardware,' and 'Printers and Faxes.'
    • Click your right mouse button on the listing for your printer, and then select 'Preferences' from the menu that appears.

    For Windows XP Professional Edition
    • Click 'Start' from the bottom left of the Windows screen, and 'Printers and Faxes.'
    • Click your right mouse button on the listing for your printer, and then select 'Preferences' from the menu that appears.

    For Windows 2000/Me/98
    • Click / Select 'Start' from the bottom left of the Windows screen, and 'Settings,' then 'Printers.'
    • Click your right mouse button on the listing for your printer, and then select 'Properties' from the menu that appears.

  2. Click the Page Setup tab.

  3. Specify the 'Fit-to-Page Printing' settings.

    auto_resize_(windows)_2.gif

    (1) Select Fit-to-Page Printing.

    (2) Select the size of original document created in application program. Paper sizes larger than the printer can handle will be available.

    (3) Select the actual size of print media.

  4. Click 'OK'.

Too Much Paper

2 possible solutions.
1 The paper itself. Check that the paper tray is not overfull. this can cause multiple sheets to feed through. Also make sure that you use good quality paper suitable for the particular type of printer. Always keep the paper dry Damp (not wet) paper will also cause the sort of problem you describe. another good reason for not keeping to much paper in the paper tray. Paper will keep better in the packet than in the tray. Always store the paper in the packet in a warm dry place. I keep mine near a radiator and away from the Air con.

2. The printer driver. Download the latest driver for your printer from the manufacturer and update the printer driver, via the control panel/printers. If you don't know how to do this you can simply uninstall the printer and then install it again using the new printer driver.

Good Luck
