I just bought the Casio SGW500H-2B Mens Twin Sensor 100M Digital Sports Watch Compass Thermometer. My problem is the digital readout in compass mode reads fine but the needle/ second hand points to east...

To fix this, hold down the A button for 4 seconds. this allows you to recalibrate the home position of the second hand. My secondo hand was posting exactly 90 degrees west in compass mode, and this home position recalibration fixed it 100 percent.

How can i fix the second hand on a wall clock the hand just hangs down while the big hand goes around?

  1. It isn't clear what hand you are talking about, but it doesn't matter
  2. Set the hand that is working to 12:00
  3. Place the loose hand at 12:00 and gently press it on. It is usually a friction type fit
  4. The hands should line up at 12, that is the goal
  5. good luck, Michael

The 24 hour hand sticks at the 12 oclock posiion on my omega seamaster gmt every 24 hours the hour hand will not pass this position.

It sounds as though the 24hr hand is being obstructed, and that is also stopping the 12hr hand. Try to examine the face carefully for foreign objects (or bent hands). Unless you're very skilled with watches, I would suggest that you take it for repair. If the hands are sticking, gently pull out the crown ("winder") to stop the watch and prevent further damage.

My watch band is to short to fit over my hand!

Go the Fossil website - There is a link at the bottom of the page, Customer Care. Click on that link. On the left there will be a menu item under Product Info that says "ordering links and bands". There is a paragraph titled "Order Links". There is an 800 number to call and they will send you two links just for shipping or if you need more than 2 links, it's $3 per link.

I have been given a casio wave ceptor wvq 570 as a present. Unfortunately the plastic strap keeps detaching itself, by pulling the strap pin out. The strap seems undamaged but has a lot of play round the...

If the pin keeps coming out, then it seems likely that it is bent.

This can happen if the watch is fastened very tightly and your hand bends back until it strains the pin.

I suggest that you go to a jeweler and have a new one fitted.

The second hand stops after a short time

You have a mechanical problem with the chronograph wheel. It can be dirty, bent, damaged teeth, out of balance, e.t.c. (too many to name). As you do not have any watchmaking experiance, the best way is to visit your nearest watch repair shop and ask for problem to be fixed. Do not ask jeweller - ask watchmaker. They do sit under one roof, but the trades differ as would shoemaker and dentist.

Second hand stops.

If you want to do it yourself you have to get the movement out first. When its done, take tweezers and carefully lift the seconds hand by the pointed end. Hand is made of flexible material and will not brake if lifted just a tiny bit.
