Question about Proview PL913B 19" Flat Panel LCD Monitor

1 Answer

I have been given a working flat screen monitor - ProView CY765. I see that there are two phono sockets named DC In and Audio. Does this monitor use DC power? Where does it get its supply from? Would that be from my desktop column or by a mains lead with in line step down transformer and phono input? Thank you

I doubt that you have a DC in that is in the shape of a rca connector. go to the web site that represents that proview device and try to get the manaul. don't plug any power into that jack until you are sure, and why would you want to run it on battery anyway.

I need to know how to power this thing up. So a phono socket is not an rca connector.
My only experience of computer kit that needs to be powered up is by some sort of mains lead. I can see nothing like a two pin nor a three pin socket.

It sounds like this montor requries a black box type prower supply, it would plug into the wall and then the other end into the dc socket you descirbe. You need to find the manual online for this device so you can order the correct power supply. or at leat find out the voltage needed to power it. You could just try a 12 volt supply with the being the center conductor, but I take no resposiblilty for a shot in the dark like this. take the monitor to radio shack, or Best Buy maybe than can find the right supply for it.

ProView 19" Flat Screen Monitor comes on with

Hello,

The dark or black picture is caused by a failure in the back light power supply. The problem can be corrected by replacing a few parts called capacitors on the board. Replacing them will require a little soldering but anyone can do it. Here is a link to a page that shows what needs to be replaced.

I hope this helps, if so please rate my solution.

Hello
If your LG unit to which you wish to give the audio output of your TV has an input [Audio In] socket, you cah connect it with using phono leads. In most cases, the audio equipements will have audio IN sockets with them; some have an RCA socet, otheres have stereo type sockets which accept external audio signals. Look keelnly on the back side of your audio equipment and find out which type is there, and buy a phono chord to suit the need. If there is no audio IN on your audio equipement, there is no way to connect. OK.

Usually the pin looks like a lap top power adapter cord and the slots are on the back side it could be a standard power cord that looks like a computer cord as well. It is there check the sides out as well look all over it is there. Look between where the stands upper mount underneath that area.

Please place a vote for me if I assisted you thanks for using FixYa! That monitor is your monitor picture. John

I managed to solve the same problem by replacing the six 470uf 25v capacitors. I have notice that the old ones has a bulging top.

I agree, the website is not very helpful. Also a web search comes up with nothing. Why not send an email to Proview? You may strike lucky!

Hi, I, too, was given one of these monitors. Using a flashlight shine it at an angle to the screen and see if you see a computer screen showing under the beam of the flashlight. If you see a picture then the backlight or its circuit is not working. Check to see that the 4 cables going to the LCD display are plugged in all of the way. There are plugs on each of the cables with 2 wires to each plug.
