Question about Sony XAV-7W 7 in. Car Monitor

Monitor won't open or close

This just happened yesterday when I turned the car off and the monitor would not close.

    front funcion display lights went off, and moitor wont open but when it does it closes properly

THE SMALL ELECTRICAL MOTOR THAT CONTROLS THIS FUNCTION IS MALFUNCTIONING. TRY TO RESET THE UNIT. IF THE UNIT HAS BEEN PREVIOUSLY RESET U MAY HAVE TO REPROGRAM THE UNIT TO CLOSE WITH KEY OFF.

When I fold down the moniter the screen flashes on then goes dark but the dvd and audio work just fine


what seems to happen with these units is the connectors on the screen go bad from opening and closing numerous times. it sucks but thats what happens with these units. everything else will work but the screen goes blank because it doesn't have a good connection with the docking part of the unit

Hey ,, yes it can be fixed, and any eletronic technician can replave the wire or resolder it to repair the problem, if you but friend wishes to try ask him to cut the section of and just resolder the rest or re add a pice and then resolder it.

either replace the stereo, or trouble shoot the powersupply internally. you should find a transistor (fet) in the powersupply area (close to where the wiring harness plugs in) that is shorted.

My screen went off


Theres no reset button, you cold have a bad fuse that goes to the unit itself or it could have just died. How old is the unit and is it still inder warranty?

DVD in Mercury Monterey will not power up


All can be fixed if the electrical system is properly checked and rewired where the wires are about to give up. The DVD will work, just check its power supply and the fuse. Finally have all the sensors and electrical checked by the computer in the service station for calibrating the correct codes and double-check..............sodeep

Kv-mr 9 inch widescreen flip down monitor only shows grey screen


Mine was doing the same thing. i checked all the fuse connections and found 1 was bad and that solved my problem. good luck

that one is easy just press menu the channel button up till you get to av1 or av2 then press the volume to change it.
