First make sure your Panasonic has 16:9 TV mode selected within its menu. Then try chainging the picture size on your TV. You didn't say what model TV you have. On my Samsung you would press the menu key then select picture, scroll down and select picture size. From hear you can select 16:9, wide zoom, zoom, 4:3. Try looking for picture size and selecting 16:9 on your TV.
The most likely cause of this is that you have accidentally changed the screen aspect ratio. There should be a button on the Panasonic remote marked "ASPECT". With the TV switched on, try pressing the "ASPECT" button repeatedly until the picture either returns to the correct size or you are unsuccessful and cycle back to the original picture size.
You will probably find that you are currently on one of the "ZOOM" settings. The correct setting should either be "AUTO" or "16:9".
If this does not solve your problem, please post back for further assistance. If you are using another receiving device, e.g. a Sky / FreeSat or Freeview box, it is also possible that you need to change the ratio setting of the receiving equipment. Please let me know the details of any additional receiving equipment you are using if/when replying.
The main coupling capacitor feeding the frame scan coils has failed or the output stage on the frame stage has failed due to dry capacitors or dry joints. Fault finding and components are not a problem and yes it is very repairable. Any technician that knows how television works can repair this standard frame output stage. I hope you find a good technician.
Dear RyanVa21; Try changing the picture size with your set's remote, press the aspect ratio button. The remote must be the original Panasonic remote. Please let me know if that did it.
