After watching a DVD, I hit the "Device" button on the remote to go back to regular TV watching. Nothing happened. I thought the batteries were dead, so I tried to use the "Device" button on the TV. Once again, nothing happened. Then I tried to adjust the volume and noticed that wasn't working. I have also tried unplugging it and that didn't do anything either. It seems to be locked. We can turn the TV on and watch a DVD, but that's all. We can't watch regular TV, can't play video games or even adjust the volume. (A bad storm went through the day before and the power went out. It took a while to turn on at first, but then it was fine.) Any help would be appreciated!!

Re: TV will turn on, but not respond
Good Day, mistymiles;
Try this before calling a factory authorized service center:
Press " menu 2 > 4 > 7 > 0 > enter", on remote. After settings have been initialized > press the system reset button on the front, once the LED stops blinking > reprogram settings and tuner channels (if not using box). IF NOT fixed call for service (get estimate before repair) and suspect repair of DM PCB (printed circuit board).
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need. goodluck!

Any universal remote will work. Just look on the back of it to make sure it supports your brand. That's the key. Just follow the directions for manual input. It will work something like this. Here you go. This will work with most all universal remote controls. If you don't have the code do the following: Automatic Programming With automatic programming, the remote control tests all the codes available on the Code List and assigns the correct code for the selected device. Although this method can be more time-consuming, it eliminates the need to look up codes and enter them manually.
1. Turn off the device with which you want to use the remote control.
2. Press and hold the corresponding button on the remote control (TV, VCR, SAT, DVD, CAB or AUD) until POWER INDICATOR illuminates. It should take a couple of seconds for the light to remain solid. The remote control is in programming mode.
3. Press and release power button. The POWER INDICATOR flashes once and stays on indicating the unit is in Power Scan mode.
4. Press CHANNEL up or CHANNEL down repeatedly until the device turns on.
5. When the device turns on, press OK to store the code.
Note: • To exit without storing the code, press BACK. • T he unit will search for the next code or the previous code if you press CHANNEL up or CHANNEL down after the device turns on. (go slow you need to press OK when the TV turns on) if you mess up turn TV off and start over. 6. Press any other button. If the device responds, the remote control has been programmed. If the device does not respond, repeat steps 2-5.

Sorry it took so long to respond to your request for help.You have to use the function button for the television, to leave the dvd function to the television. Just push the button that say's TV and you will return to the television mode of the remote control. I hope this information helps you with the problem of switch the functions on you remote control to use the television.Thank you for using FixYa and have a nice day!
This is a configuration problem. My guess is that when you set up the "Watch TV" Activity, the input source was not properly selected. Remember, you should almost never need to control devices separately,(as you would with a typical remote). In fact, the only time you need to specifically control a device would be a situation where you need to access a little-used function that was not programmed as part of an 'activity'. Sometimes, you may need to control a device to tweak an activity that did not start correctly, but apart from these situations, you will almost always be concerned with starting "Activities". This is very different from your typical universal remote! Instead of operating 'devices' like your TV, cable box or DVD, you configure and select "Activities" that automatically control the devices that are used during that activity. So, go back into the Logitech software and make sure that your Watch TV activity is selecting the appropriate input. If everything is setup correctly, and you still are unable to go to the correct input, you may need to adjust some of your delay settings, especially the Power-on Delay. Power on delay is the amount of time it takes for the device to turn on and start accepting IR commands. On most electronics when you first turn them on if you hit other buttons too quickly the device will not respond to them. This delay helps to keep that from happening. Hope this helps!
