the video card you used have a capability for dual monitor..so 1st thing that you need to do is to make sure that the computer recognized the 2nd monitor and activate dual monitor capability on the nvidia panel..after that on your tv select the proper source(like VGA, HDMI1 etc.) on which you'll be able to see the the video from the computer to your TV..

My HP Pavilion 1903 monitor keeps going to sleep every time I turn it on

check in your monitor menu to ensure there is no energy save mode set. press the menu button on your monitor and check the settings. ensure that your pc also does not have an energy save setting set. e.g if the mouse or keyboard are not touched for a specific time e.g. 1 minute then switch off monitor to save power. make sure that such settings are not switched to on in your pc settings. if this is a new monitor and this was not a problem with your old monitor then suspect the monitor settings if the monitor and pc are both new. then suspect both settings. if possible test the monitor on a second pc or laptop to see if problem persists.

try to uninstall and reinstall video card driver. Check power settings in control panel. If settings have been checked and still the same issue and working with another monitor, then might need to replace the monitor.

How do i stop my monitor auto configurating? I have a AOC LM500 monitor and every 5 seconds the screen goes black the it auto configures... i dont know how to stop it

Your auto-configuring settings are located on your monitors settings. Depending on the monitor, there should be a settings button somewhere on the monitor itself. In the settings there will be an option to change the monitor to your settings or "auto configuring". You'll know what to do from here.

I hope this helped.

I was trying add another monitor and now there both blank, what can i do??

Good day sir, hi it seems you are having problems with your monitor. Let us first try to run the PC using only one monitor.
  1. PC is off, remove your 2nd graphics board by opening the side panels, locate the CMOS jumper, usually its near the battery, the setting is 1 2, place the jumper to 2 3 momentarily, after about 3 seconds, place it back to 1 2. If you cannot find the CMOS jumper, just remove the battery.
  2. connect the monitor to its built in graphics vga.
  3. turn on pc, as this point you should see the video on your monitor.
  4. PC is off, place back your battery if you have remove it. check to see if your 2nd graphics board is good, test it on other pc.
  5. if your 2nd graphics board is good. Install it on the motherboard. connect a second monitor.
  6. power on the PC, you should see on one monitor the boot up, and on the other monitor a message. just wait for windows to boot up. you will see the other monitor be an extension of your desktop.
  7. Make necessary settings for both monitor. Thats it.
If you still cant operate both display, do it several times. If still nothing happens review your work, get help from a friend who knows.

I usually dual monitor and have programs open on both. now that i am at home i do not have my second monitor only my laptop. when i go to open a certain program it opens on my "second monitor" that isnt...

You should go to the display properties on your laptop while at home and disable the dual monitor setting. You should then have all programs open on your laptop screen and not on the secondary monitor. If running XP, right click an open spot on desktop and select Properties. If running Vista, right click an open spot on desktop and select Personalize. Go to Display Settings, select the second monitor and uncheck "Extend the desktop onto this monitor". Hope this helps.

Video card

go into your video cards advanced settings-- right click anywhere on an empty spot of the desktop- select properties-select the settings tab at the top--when the new window opens, look for another tab at the top with your video card model number on it and select. now that your into your video cards settings, look for a setting to "enable multiple displays" after you enable it, close all windows, restart the computer and make sure both monitors are powered on.

Ny screen went out there is an green line down the center and the picture is all distorted

Could be one of three things.
1. Try replacing the VGA/Digital Monitor cord
2. Try a different monitor

If these offer the same results, then you need a new video card. If the video is "on the motherboard" the whole motherboard will need to be replaced, UNLESS, you just buy a new video card, depending on the model/design of your motherboard, it could a PCI-E, PCI, or an AGP (these are types of video cards)
