Okay...you need to replace the element. The following link gives you step-by-step instructions on how to perform this repair;

http://www.fixya.com/support/r469407-replacing_bake_or_broil_element_in

The lower element if your BAKE element. You can find replacement parts on line at searspartsdirect.com. Just type in your model number (located on a nameplate around the oven door opening or lower drawer opening) and look under the various headings on the next page. Another great site that offers competitive pricing is repairclinic.com. Sometimes their parts are cheaper. Use the Sears website for correct part identification as they have excellent component locater drawings to assist you. Once you get a price, however, compare to see if you can save.

I hope this helps you.

Single element stove oven, doesn't get hot enough

Your oven probably has a feature called a hidden bake element. The element is located beneath the floor of the oven. (Because of this, NEVER put aluminum foil on the bottom of the oven because it will get hot enough to melt the aluminum foil and make it bond to the bottom of your oven.) You can adjust the temperature of your oven through the electronic oven controls. Check your owner's manual for how to do this.

JBP65G GE range oven won't shut off

Electric Ranges have circuit boards that control the power to each burner or element. Circuit board could be faulty. I would not mess with electricity unless you know what you are doing. Call a certified repair specialist or the manufacturer if under warranty. Good Luck

The lower element stopped working! Can I replace

Hello. You can certainly DIY, and here's how: Trip the breaker for the stove at the main panel, and be sure that all power is off at your stove/oven. Depending on your particular model, you will either disconnect the element from the wiring at the rear if the oven, or it will unplug from the inside, usually after loosening two screws adjacent to the element. Either way, remove the element. If you have an electrical meter and know how it's used, you can test the element for continuity. An open circuit would indicate that it is defective. If you do not have a meter, you can just take the element with you to an appliance parts supply business, and they'll test it for you. I always take my old part with me, so I can make sure that the part I purchase has the same terminals as the one removed. Installation is the reverse of the removal.
Hope this helps you!

The top burners come on but my oven wont heat up. The elements are working, i had them tested. The stove is only two years old.

There is an open circuit in the oven circuit.

If you have a timer, make sure it is set to Manual Operation.

The thermostat rarely fails unless there is mechanical damage to the gas tube inside the oven. It is common for terminals to open circuit due to the high power consumed by oven element.

It is also possible to have a blown fuse to oven supply if it is fed by two or three phase power.

Check for supply form terminal block to thermostat and from thermostat to element.

A simple test is to remove oven element and insert light globe. When oven turns on globe should light. This confirms element is blown.

My oven isn't getting hot

Most likely one of the elements in the lower oven. For this job you will require basic tools and a multimeter to check the individual elements resistance.
This Must be done with the oven isolated from the mains supply Before beginning work.
remove the screws holding the element in place carefully pull a few CM's of cable through the holes in the oven bulkhead and disconnect the element from the supply cables.
With the element out check for short circuit and breakdown from Mains supply to earth. Using the multimeter on resistance setting check between the terminals and the outer casing there should be no connection here at all. any lower than 2M ohms is asking for trouble.
Check the heating elements by probing onto either end of the element and reading the result back as an example a 230V 2500W element should read around 21 Ohms. Elements are not repairable internally.

Bottom Baking element not working

If all your connections are solid then your controller is defective. Did you get any faults before changing the element? Does the broil (one at the top of the oven) work?

Replaced bake element in JBP90SFSS and now oven not working properly

Sometimes when an element opens, there is significant current to cause the control relays to arc and weld together causing them to act as a closed switch no matter what state the control tells them to be in. This will have to be checked at the control board using a multimeter.

There is significant voltage and current involved in this circuit and testing is best left to a professional.

The back of the range will have to be removed to check the circuit for faults.

I have a Kenmore Stove and the bottom (bake) element does not heat up. The top Element is fine. I have replaced the bottom element and checked the fuses and they seem fine. Could it be a control panel that...

You could very well have an Electronic Oven Control (EOC) board problem. There two separate circuits that control the oven BAKE and BROIL functions. If you have replaced the BAKE element, and have ensured it connected properly, the only other component that controls that function, is the EOC. If you post back with your complete model number, I can double check to make sure. The model number will be located on a nameplate somewhere around the oven door opening or lower drawer opening. The reason I need to confirm is because some ranges have a separate relay control board.

Frigidaire lower element not working

Does the element have continuity??Did you do an amp reading with the element connected?? Do you have voltage at the element terminals??If you have voltage at the element and you don't read amps when unit is on then it's the element. If it's the coil? The board should be replaced.Local appliance store may have it or can order it.
