I apologize. I should have specified that I meant in order to use the Tascam US-122 for studio software like Sonar, Cubase, Protools, etc, can I just remove the Audigy card? I am having much latency/skipping/choppy sound problems. I just removed the Soundmax drivers, but still no luck. I tried reinstalling the Tascam and SB drivers, but still no luck.

    HELP???

To fix skipping and crackling issues you need to install a PCI usb card just for the tascam (aprox £10) this will solve all your probs... you can leave the Audigy card in for general windows and gaming use... For some reason the tascam will not work with AMD on board usb ports.

These days they make pretty good sound cards on-board. If your playing lots of games, they may requie certain sound and may not run on your computer.

It all depends on what your using your computer for. If you want the best surround sound you will need a 7.1 Channel Sound card. But if you are happy with your sound card, then why change it! If it ain't broke, why fix it? Depending on your circumstances you may only use your computer, for work, internet and some games. Your inbuilt card would be great. But if you like to have the best of everything, then you would splash out and buy a new sound card with the works and play heaps of games and watch plenty of movies!

Have you tried downloading the latest drivers for your sound card. Has any bios setting for on-board card being switched off/diabled , could interfer. Also try moving Audigy card in a different PCI slot. You can try taking out the audigy and try using on-board, but you will need the drivers.

Hello you can try the vista driver from here:

http://tascam.com/product/us-122/downloads/

It will maybe not run in 64 bit.

Try to install the software in compatibility mode.

Here is a youtube video that shows how you do that:

Sound driver

You can download the sound driver for Dell OptiPlex GX280 PC Desktop by visiting Dell.com.

The sound card present is Analog Devices ADI 198x Integrated Audio. Driver available is for XP and 2000. This may or may not work with Vista or 7 but there is a good chance it will. IF not then you may need to search for custom drivers, call Dell support or move to a better system.

Analog Devices ADI 198x Integrated Audio

For all other drivers click here.

Sometimes the link may not work, just reply back and i will give you another link.

Dell Optiplex GX280 Video Card Install Problem

You hit that one right on the dot.  ATI website showed the specs for that graphics card you installed as needing a 300 Watt power supply.  Good news though... I researched newegg.com and I believe I found your 300W power supply.  There are 4 different Optiplex gx280 designs with 4 completely different power supplies.  Since you bought the low-profile video card, I believe you have the slim computer case and this power supply should work for you...

How to make the inbuilt graphics card work for games for intel915

Frankly,

Not much you can do to improve that graphics adapter, but it can be removed and upgraded as well they only shipped with 512MB DDR 3200 RAM, I would recommend two things to improve performace. First Add at minimum a 256MB PCI-E video card. Second upgrade the RAM to at least 1GB prefferably more (4GB Max)

This will make a great difference as the video card installed from the factory only had 64MB of RAM.

Hope this helps FixYa,

Chris

Went from a Dell Dimension 8250 to a Dell Optiplex GX280

Check for updated drivers and install if available. If that does not resolve the issue completely remove the card and any software and drivers and do a clean install with the new drivers
