Question about Washing Machines

1 Answer

Whirlpool LSR7233EQ0 Washer would not transition into the spin cycle without manually having to shut it off move the timer dial one "click" and then pulling the button to start it again. As we continue to have this issue it has been complicated by now once you do "force" it to the spin cycle... it sounds like it is spinning but the tub is not actually spinning. I do notice that it does still agitate during the wash cycle. Do I have multiple problems?.... anything you can recommend would be much appreciated

Obviously, the motor is not running at all and you are only getting your cloths wet. There are sequential event not taking place and sounds to me, too complex to resolve on your own (you need test meters and knowledge what to test) I suggest that you call for a service tech to check the washer

My Kenmore washer drains after the rinse cycle but won't spin at the end of it's cycle. If I manually set it to the spin cycle, it spins just fine. Desperate!!! The lid switch was just replaced about

Possible there is problem with the timer controller unit. It seems that the stepper motor is not moving to the next cycle until you manually move it to the spin. You can use some contact cleaners on the switch and also carefully try to see if the timer moves within , replacement is a costly issue and must be debated

Kenmore 70 washer, does not move from one cycle to another

This assumes that you have a basic Kenmore / Whirlpool top load, direct drive, neutral drain (it doesn't spin until the pump removes most of the water) machine.

First, see the Sears parts site for your washer:
http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/index.action

Enter your model number and you'll see a list of major sub-components with diagrams and parts.

This appears to be a timer / timer motor problem.

I'd also look at the Whirlpool / Kenmore direct drive installation and maintenance manual for testing the timer.

The washer is stopping after each cycle (wash, rinse and spin). If I manually move the dial to the next cycle it continues until it stops again at the subsequent cycle. Please advise. Thanks

sounds like the teeth on the timer are going. Some washers however do have a "rest" period to allow the transmission to cool down. give the washer a couple of moments before forcing the dial.

the timer may need to be replaced.. it might not be clicking on the spin cycle. try moving the dial manually to the spin mode.

Whirlpool lsr7233eq0. The machine is level but

Grab back of washer on both sides and tip towards you and drop gently back. This will level the back legs which are self adjusting. Sometimes they stick You may have to pry with a screwdriver down towards floor to free them if this is the case.

Whirlpool Ultimate Care II washer

If it will perform all of the functions if you turn your timer knob manually, I would open the console and check for any loose connections, although from your description your timer motor has gone bad (only availible as the whole timer) It can be purchased from online from the manufacture or from a local parts store.
