98 jetta tdi glove compartment broken off,how to open glovvy?

On the sides of the glove box in the middle are catches. use a flat head screw driver to pry it open. kind of like getting into a locked house door. push the catch in. be carefull not to break the whole mec. get a latch from a junk yard. if you need a whole new box thats easy also. 3 screws inside the box up at the top and 2 on the outside 1 on each side. unscrew and it comes off with ease and goes back in just as easy. where the door stop is( the little part that keeps the door from opening fully down and everything falling out) pull on that spot on either side. you need to do that to get the right angle for the screws.
