. The best thing to use is square grid type chicken wire . Cut a piece which will cover the entire area where the holes are and use the existing screws that hold the rear cover on by removing a few of them and then securing them back onto the unit using washers under the screws and above the grid to hold the grid in place . The mouse needs water to live and is drinking the water in your defrost drain tray . It is important to solve this issue, as the mouse will actually chew through the plastic tray to get to the water to survive . If this happens , you'll see water leaking out from under the refrigerator every couple of days as a defrost cycle runs every six to eight hours .
