Hi limit device possibly tripped off. look for a reset button, usually located at the back of the unit and reset it.

  • Anonymous Oct 02, 2012

I am sorry, But this device is not as easily repaired just by a push of a button. Instead it is automatically reset using a piece on the circuit board. So I am thinking that this is Indeed a power failure but there is no actual repair that can be done to fix this device. I have also had this problem as well (Both the red light and the green light are on and the green light that tells you when the device is warm enough to start frying food Will not shut off and the fryer stays cold) and have opened the whole machine cleaned it out and have checked the machine for manual resets but the device was not very well made nor was it a fancy fryer with easy part replacements because the only solution I have is to find a new front panel to the fryer and replace it.

Flame goes off when temp. reaches 250 degrees, use to stay on 350 degrees without problems an them started acting up and won't reach that temp any more, disconnect the pilot automaticly

Hi limit device trips prematurely (should only trip when oil temp reaches 450F). Check if the hi limit sensing bulb (located inside the fryer tank, between fire tubes) is not touching the fire tube because if it does, it will sense the heat from burner flame which is much higher than oil temp.

I have a tefal family pro fryer, when i switch it on the green light comes on instead of the red and it will not heat up. why?

Look for a reset button on the unit, Push it, you will hear a "click' then the unit will work. If not, there is an electrical problem, the element, or temp control is bad.

Deep Frier power indicator light is on but will

Most fryers have what is called a hi limit. When the oil temp reaches a certain Max temp this switch opens the circuit and will not allow the unit to heat. On commercial fryers, the hi limit has a really small red plunger button. Push it in to reset.

Pilot goes out when fryer reaches set temp. and shuts-off.

try to change the thermal battery the device that the pilot heats.. other wise there is a screw at the botton of the automatic valve.. try to increase the pilot so it can heat more the thermal battery! u dont have enough voltage to activate the solenoid valve so thats why ur pilot goes off
