Question about Char-Broil Performance 463463006

Open Question

Char-Broil 463420707 The tank regulator on a one month old grill seemed to be leaking so I swapped out for new regualtor.  Same problem occurs and I get both a singing noise from the tank as gas flows, smell of gas from valve on tank, and very low flame height on the ignition burner.  When other burners are turned on, all flame levels decrease as burners are added.  Have also swapped out tanks through Rhino swap system.

SOURCE: Gas Flow Problem

Replace the regulator and hose assembly that screws onto the propane bottle. I had the same problem on two patio heaters and my 4 burner grill. You can get regulators and hose at Home Depot, Lowes, Northern, probably Meijers, etc. Check the fitting on the end of the hose for the correct gender, male or female, size, and hose length. You can get a fitting in the plumbing department to change the gender.

I can all but give you money that this will fix it.

I have an old but trusty MasterFlavour Char Broil LP Gas BBQ 4635801 with built in Accuflex 451-05 5/16" hose (1 psi max) and standard US/Canadian regulator but I am now in the UK and want to know...

Yes, Susan, you will need to change the Hose/Regulator Assembly. You can probably pick one up at any store that sells gas grills and accessories. I suggest that you take your old one with you for comparison purposes., when you go to purchase one. In the USA, the assembly runs about $30.00.

Need to purchase replacement regulator/valve (one piece) for patio caddie grill??

If what you're looking for is the Regulator/Tank Hose Assembly, you can purchase that for any home center or hardware store that sells gas grills. They are pretty much a universal fii, but be sure to take your old one with you for comparison purposes of the hose length. A little longer is ok, but shorter is not.

If that's not what you're looking for, you can purchase replacement parts directly form Char-Broil.

I have a new tank of gas and cannot get the grill to light.

First make sure tank valve is good by hooking it to something you know works, it tank is good Ensure that your hose, regulator, and control assembly are all clear of debris and that the orifice is not plugged.

New Charbroil gas regulator leaks

The connector on the grill side that connects to tank may be bad. Call manufacturer and they should send you a new hose and regulator for free since it is a new grill. If grill does the same then replace tank.

Regulator Repeatedly Reduces The Gas Flow

The new regulators will automatically shut down or reduce flow if the it senses that the flow is too high (as in a line leak or break). It can also be folled if you open the valve too quickly. There is a special plastic plug that can reset a tripped valve in the new tanks. (Mosquito Magnet supplies one with their product).

The other thing is that there is a recall going on at Char Broil of defective thermometers that are reading too low.

Char Broil grill w/full tank and cleaned air jets, no heat

try opening the tank really slowly. if you open it too quickly the overfill protection devise in the tank will restrict the gas flow to the burners. hope this helps.

MY propane grill will not come up to the 500 plus degrees for grilling.

There are four possible ways this problem could occur.
1. The unit is old and the burner tubes are plugged, either with rust or spider eggs [yes, they like it their in the winter]. Parts are available at Home Depot and Lowes.
2. The unit is designed for either Natural Gas, and you are using Propane. Conversion can be done.
3. Your gas flow is not forceful enough from the Propane tank. Could be an old tank or a bad regulator. Replace bad parts.
4. Your unit isn't getting enough oxygen because there is too much ash and grease under the grill blocking the airflow. Clean the grill.

Char Broil commercial grill won't heat pass 300 degrees

I had a similar problem and thought the propane kept running out....come to find out it was a defective regulator. $21 at the local ACE store as running to LOWES and trying to get a point across to a 17 yr old summer help college kid for a intermittent problem seemed more challenging then it was worth. Would barely light the burners and would not get over 200 degrees. Ripped it apart...blew through all the orfices including the regulator put it all back together and would work for a while then fail again. Good luck!
