Question about Whirlpool Calypso GVW9959K Top Load Washer
Hi. Once again I am in need of service on my Kenmore Calypso Washing
Machine. It amazes me that after all of my letters and requests for
true assistance, I have not heard back from Sears regarding rectifying
this situation, other than a couple of generic apology emails referring
me to call to discuss my service calls. There is nothing wrong with the
service calls or the repairmen. That will not alleviate this situation.
I'd appreciate a repair history, but at this point I am so fed up with this machine, and with Sears lack of concern over my distress, that I am loathe to ever shop at Sears again. What kills me is that Sears KNOWS this machine is a lemon. They developed a product that they have the audacity to SELL to owners of this machine (at $12 a bottle no less!) to alleviate the MOLD! I DID buy the Washer Magic TWO MONTHS AGO and now I have to buy it yet AGAIN????? So is Sears telling me that after spending over $1,200 on the machine, and numerous dollars on Service Agreements, that now I have to dish out $12 every two months for the machine to not stink? This is a terrible way to treat your customers!Nothing short of a $1,200 credit on my account so I can replace this horrible product will rectify this awful situation. I can't tell you how much stress and worry over my children's health this machine has caused us!
I started the washer this morning and once again, to my dismay, it smelled like a landfill in my laundry room, which by the way is on the second floor of my home right next to my son's bedroom. He began sneezing and coughing almost immediately when the machine started (as I mentioned in previous email complaints, my little boy is asthmatic and the MOLD that is causing this horrible odor is nothing short of unsafe for him, as well as the rest of the family). On top of that, it is now making a horrible grinding sound. So once again, a mere 2 months since the last time, I had to call for service.
I have requested from Sears the repair history on this machine more than once to no avail. It is way too often, I assure you.
HI I feel your pain, a couple of questions is ther lint build up and when your machine drains can you hear the water in the drain pipe splashing as if air is between the hose and the water level in the drain? Reducing cycle, soap and insuring drain is set proper these issues can be reduced, and do you have a sears master protection agreement? I know that when you have one and parts are replaced four times in a calender year marked by the first part order that sears has the choice to replace the machine and that calypso is not produced because of these issues. Also if you have a protect agreement they should pop the lid and clean the tub.
