Hi Tim,
PSN are carrying out system maintenance until around 9pm tonight. Would be nice if we all got informed of this then we wouldn't be ripping out our ethernet cables and trying them in our laptops! Nothing to worry about, your PS3 and obviously your internet connection are fine.
