What is your computer model? try their solutions, which should be available on your hard. they probably have a diagnostic area to help you. Not knowing more bout your system, that is about the best advice I can give you. I have a dell and also dell diagnostics which helps with problems like this. It is probably a settings problem so that your router is not properly recognizing your PC.

Yes, you have to search for the TCP and UDP port numbers and open them in the router config not forgeting to bind them to your LAN ip address.

I want to open my NAT so i can play xbox live

Okay. If you look at Network connections on Start menu (XP) open network connections...
Then select the on you are connected to... (LAN or WLAN) Click the support tab and you will see something like "192.168.1.1"
Well type that into your browser, if it ask you for a password the default is normaly "admin" or "1234" (No quotes)
Temper with the "Gaming" or "Wireless connections" or "port forwarding"
If that does not work, are you sure you got xbox live gold?
(or hit the reset button on the back of your router)

I CAN GET THE INTERNET EXPLORER TO WORK WITH MY MODEM.... SOMEHOW I THINK THE IP AND DNS ADDRESS IS WRONG... IT KEEP SAYING CHECK THE DOMAIN SERVER.... WHAT IS THE CORRECT IP AND DNS AND SUBMASK...

Hi, Go under network connection Right click on wireless Network connection or LAN connection (depens on what you're using to connect to the modem, a cable or through a wireless connection) and then properties. Scroll down until you see TCP/IP and double click on it. Make sure that it's set to obtain an address automatically and to obtain a DNS server address automatically. If you are using a router, do the same, but in this case you can set a static address. The subnet mask is 255.255.265.0 and the DNS address has usually the same address of your router.

Im try to set up an wireless connection but it always seams to have a problem, one of them is that the sistem says that i have an ip comflict! what can i do?

If your getting that message on your computer that means the IP address that your computer acquied from your serverrouter has a duplicate in the network. The very first thing that you need to check is whethere your computer has a an IP address that is manually assigned to it, to check this just go to Network Connections under Control Panel(assuming your computer runs on Windows XP). Right click on the Wireless Connection icon and go to properties, under Local Area Network Properties you will find several check marks under This device uses the following; Client for Microsoft, File and Printer Sharing, QoS Packet Scheduler etc... Look for and highlight Internet Protocol(TCP/IP) and click Properties, under the TCP/IP Properties you have 2 option for both IP and DNS server. Make sure both is set to obtain. If your still getting the same message Right click on Wireless Connection and choose repair so tha your router/server will provide a new unique IP address, wel that will usually resolve the IP address conflict on your computer.

Try resetting your IP address:
The laptop may be trying to use the IP address from the old router.

1) Click Start (assuming Windows 2000, XP, or Vista)
2) Click Run
3) Type in CMD
This will take you to a black command box
4) Type in: ipconfig/release
The chart should show your IP address as 0.0.0.0
Once this has happened, proceed to step 5
5) Type in: ipconfig/renew
You should now see a new IP address listed.

Also note that you need to set up your network key (assuming that you are using one) on both the router and laptop.
Make sure that your router is set up to perform as DHCP server.

Netopia 3347-02; I cam connecting two computers cia the ethernet; the second computer keeps getting booted off. What can I do to solve?

I am looking for this fix right now, and one solution I saw but have not yet validated is this:

Go to your router settings in your browser (http://192.168.1.254/). Click wireless and enter your Wireless SSID as stated here. Now enter your WEP key on the DS. On the DS, choose not to auto obtain an IP address, and enter an IP starting with 192.168.1.*, less than 192.168.1.253 (for example, 192.168.1.228). Put in 255.255.255.0 for subnet mask. Now, here's where I made the mistake: You don't use the gateway as listed in your router settings, you use your router's IP address as a gateway (this is listed as local network IP address on the main page).
Now just put in your primary and secondary DNS servers as listed on main page, and you should be ready to go.

My computer down stairs says im connected to the router upstair, but i can,t connect to the internet down stairs.is it my wireless n usb network adapter.

Try putting the router ip address in your browser address bar, if the router configuration page is displayed this would normally mean there is not a problem with your wifi connection.
Most routers will from these pages indicate wether you are connected to the internet successfully if you are unable to determine this from the indication lights on the router.

I have an ethernet hub to which my dsl modem is connected. I also have two computers on this hub so I can access the internet on both PCs. I am trying to also connect a belkin wireless access point to the...

You should try to upgrade to a router. The main differences between a router and a hub is a router has a microcontroller and a hub does not. The router can operate at something called a full duplex which means it can send and receive data at the same time, it will also come with an additional IP address, possibly your internet service provider will only allow a limited number of IP addresses per one line. First unplug another connection and then try your X-box connection.

Wireless Router

If you clicked repair connection at anytime, you need to reset the router, by way of a reset button on the rear or front, go to your wired network card properties in control panel>network connections, click TCP/IP line, click properties again and select obtain ip address automatically. At this point you can run the setup wizard again if you wish using the rj45 cable You should set up the router using an RJ45 lan cable which comes with the unit and get into the routers settings by typing it's ip address in your web browser 192.168.0.1. Check that DHCP is set at enabled to give your pc's an automatic ip address. Check that wireless is also enabled and save any changed settings. Go to the properties of your pc's wireless adapter in control panel network connections and on its TCP/IP line check that obtain ip address automatically is ticked. when you have set up your wireless connection and the router is set up correctly, disconnect the rj45 cable and if neccassary dissable the wired network card so as the router looks for your wireless adapter and gives it an ip address. When a connection is found by your wireless connection you need to go into the router again and set up your wireless security, using whatever method you choose eg WEP or WPA PSK. You need to select the numbers and letters mixture pass phrase that you use for encyption and use the same numbers in the wireless adapter when it asks for the passkey no., you should then be able to connect again securely.
