Question about Hoover AAA140 Front Load Washer

1 Answer

Buying rear drum bearing on hoover AAA140

The drum bearing is noisy. I have been to simco to try and purchase a replacement bearing but they only seam to be able to get hold of a whole rear tub assembly at £180 (40004223).

They only do a bearing seal £16 (09028960).

Does anyone know where I can buy just the bearing or know the size of it so that I can purchase one locally. (prefer not to have to remove it first to find out !)

I also notice the brushes I have purchased are wrong!

Thanks very much

Eo5 keeps coming up

Indicates a fault with the heater or the thermistor (temp. sensor). Both located at the bottom rear of the drum.

Drum bearing dry and noisy

The assembly must be removed , greased and reset if there is no friction on the bearing and there is no water leak.
Wash with diesel/kerosene and apply light oil , turn the bearing to hear a smooth noise .If so you can set it back with some light grease. If there is roughness on the bearing , it will good to replace.

Dryer makes noise when turning like bearings going or belt squeek

Hi,
check the following -
It's noisy
If your dryer is noisy, check these:

Rollers
Idler pulley
Glides
Rear drum bearing
Blower wheel

Rollers
Many dryers use rollers or wheels to support the clothes drum. When these rollers are worn, they can be noisy. You should replace the whole set of rollers at the same time.

Idler pulley
Dryers have a tension or idler pulley that keeps tension on the main drive belt. When it's worn, it can be noisy. When that happens, don't lubricate it. Just replace it.

Glides
Many dryers use nylon or plastic glides at the front of the clothes drum for support. When these are worn, they can be noisy. When that happens, replace them.

Rear drum bearing
Some dryers support the clothes drum in the rear with a center spindle instead of rollers. The spindle may be a ball-and-socket type support or a shaft through a sleeve. When the components are worn, they may squeak, squeal, or rub. You can't repair them. Just replace them when they're worn.

Blower wheel
Your dryer's blower wheel pulls air over the heat source, through the clothes drum, and past the thermostats, then pushes it out the exhaust duct. The blower wheel, which is usually plastic, may wear out over time. But if it's noisy, it may simply be clogged with lint. Clean the blower and test to see if the dryer is still noisy. If it is, you probably need to replace it.

good luck.....

Belt keeps coming off hoover nextra hnl 3416

It sounds like the bearing.
It`s quite a big stripdown job.
If you are good at DIY then you should be able to do it.
Just make sure the drum isn`t damaged where the bearing fits.

Noisy Servis M9503S

Hi.

Remve the belt, and turn the drum by hand, if it sounds rough or is noisy, then yes the main drum bearings have failed.

It is a DIY job , but can be expensive, probably cheaper to buy new washer if it is more than 3 or 4 years old.

Hotpoint wm80 bearing replacement!!

The drum will have to be removed.
Bearing replacement on ANY Hoover can be difficult. Even for experienced technicians, it can take 1 to 2 hours as long as there are no surprises (corrosion, stubborn bolt etc). Also, all Hoover washers require at least 2 specialized tools for removing certain components of the machine.
