Question about Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate Edition

1 Answer

Back ups It seems my vista business lap top does its own internal back up. I try to do one on CD and it always formats which takes forever and I have gone as high as 24 hours and 6 CD's and it is still not done. My windows only took hours the first time and minutes after that. No manual came with this and I cannot figure out the problem can you help or do you understand what I am saying?

Yes understood, but you need to keep trying and use only dvd not cd-rw cause you need really big space for back-up.With Vista you don't need to do back-up cause it does it internal by it'self
Good luck!

Unable to install XP OS to MSI lap top

Insert your installer to the lap top then try to change the boot up priority by entering the bios. Try to press del key while your lap top boot. If these deosn't wok try F1 or F2 thesame process. If you have enter the BIOS, look for the boot priority which includes the First Boot, 2nd Boot and 3rd boot. Change the 1st boot to CDROM and the 2nd boot to hardisk. Then save the changes by pressing F10. your PC will reboot and it will direct you to the OS installation.

Every time I need to do a back up, I'm told to insert blank disc, then I'm told "Disc needs formatting" but the formatting always fails, why?

Go to Start-->Control Panel-->Backup & Restore

Check Backup Destination. it should be CD Drive here. If it is CD Drive, then it will ask for inserting "Bannk Cd". I suggest you to insert new Bank CD/DVD to avoid formatting message. Also, if data is huge, it can not be write on CD/DVD.

I would suggest you to buy any external USB hardrive and set it as a BACKUP Path.

Nero Burning a Data CD

The names are too long. You'll have to either rename the files to an "8.3" format ("PHOTO001.jpg") or tell Nero options to:

Use Joliet format, and allow long file names. Pick this before burning the disk.

If you want to reformat your pc be sure u back up all important file you have in your laptop. You dont need to worry about the OS because the OS CD is already included when you purchase your genuine laptop. Just look for the CD.
