Your TV & S T B support the higher resolution you're not getting definitely is a Hardware Problem. To diagnose whether this problem belongs to either of TV or S T B, try connecting your TV to another Set Top Box and if it solves the problem, your S T B (Set Top Box) has malfunctioned and you need hand it over to the Service Center for repairs or replacement. If the problem persists even with the other S T B, your TV needs Service Center.

There are instances that the input cable from a settop box is unable to output a clear enough signal to the projector which is why the projector will switch over to a lower resolution that it can display. Check your cable as well as recheck your settings on the TV and settop box again. But do make sure that you check if your cable is good enough. An option would be to try it on another system if possible.

The tv works with the antenna and the ski but turned it self off after about an hour when I watched my bluray player and the red light came on. After a couple of minutes I was able to turn back on but...

Go into the setup of your Bluray player and in Video setup reduce the resolution to 720p from the default setting of 1080p.
Some Bluray players have a button on the remote labeled HDMI. Every time you press this button the output resolution will change from 480p / 576p / 720p /1080i /1080p. Try one of the lower resolution that way it will strain your TV's graphic processor a little less.

Tv resolution

It will produce 1080i or 480p using the component input jacks. No way as sharp as 720p. This is of coarse your cable provider gives it to you, and your using a box.

Change the resolution through your Cable / Satellite box - Go into the menu. Most of the Akai tv sets do not have an option to change the resolution.

You should have everything you need. I really don't think you have to order anything. Make sure you have whatever set top box you are hooking up to TV on the correct mode or setting... 1080i 720P 480P 480i etc....If you have any other questions... email me back or hopefully this was enough to get you up and running. Good luck and Happy Holidays....Jay

For this unit and the addition of the secuity features of Blu-Ray, the 1080i you set can handle is through the component input from a DVD player or an XBOX. In the configuration menu of the PS3, change the resolution to 1080i and see if your set will reset to it. The 1080i on the Blu-Ray is only possible on the HDMI cable as far as I could find, again due to the security restriction. The Mitsu is not going to run it in 720p due to the PS3 is running component and cannot control sync to this set.

HD resolutions

Your TV would have to be HD ready and will automatically set itself to 1080i, but if you go into the XBOX 360 console settings' the top menu enables you to change resolution, but if the x box does not recognise 1080i it will not show up. See if 720i shows up as this is still High Def. and also that 60 Hertz is the setting and not 50 hertz
