The print-head is like a wide paint-brush going "across" the page.
If some of the hairs on the paint-brush have no paint, then you get "strips" of paint.
Similarly, for your printer, some of the ink-jets are clogged, resulting in "strips".
Use the software supplied with the printer to run a few "print-head-cleaning" cycles, to try to unclog those jets.
