How to burn MTS, M2TS Videos to DVD on Windows 7?

You have .mts/m2ts videos on your HD camcorder and want to burn it to the DVD disk? This tutorial will show you how to burn MTS/M2TS Videos to DVD on Windows 7.

Before we go to step-by-step guide, we need to understand a bit of background knowledge about MTS/M2TS. According to Wikipedia, both MTS and M2TS are Sony high definition video file types, which are raw AVCHD videos recorded by AVCHD camcorders such as Sony HDR-SR1 camcorders. And m2ts files usually record onto 8cm mini DVDS or blue-ray DVDS, SD memory cards and Memory Stick, or record onto hard drive camcorder

So, We have to convert MTS/M2TS videos to DVD video formats (MPEG-2)before we burn it to DVD disk. Fortunately, there is Wondershare DVD Converter Ultimate can burn mts/m2ts video to DVD directly. Importing your MTS/M2TS videos into it and insert a blank DVD disk to DVD Rom, with 1 click, it will bring you a DVD that is playable on your home DVD player. Sounds great? Let's go to the step-by-step guide:

How to burn MTS/M2TS videos to DVD

Step1 Download Wondershare DVD Converter Ultimate, install it and running

Step2 loading videos

Load video files that you want to burn into DVD disk.

Step3 Making a DVD menu

You can select DVD menu template on the left bar. Set background image and music from you local hard disk. Then, click "Next" button

Name DVD label and set video quality and DVD disk type. Click "Start" button. Then, you can take cup of coffee and waiting until it done.

My sony DVD-ROM DDU 1615 does not play DVD video or record my videos onto dvds.

If you want to just PLAY DVD movies with your current setup, then try downloading and installing a free program called VLC MEDIA PLAYER from WWW.CNET.COM which will let you play DVDs on your computer.

Here is the direct link to their download page where you can read about the software, check out other user's reviews, and download it free if you want:

http://download.cnet.com/VLC-Media-Player/3000-13632_4-10267151.html?tag=main;productListing

I use this free progarm on my computer and it works great.

Just use your mouse to click on the link, which is the underlined and highlighted text just above. This will open a new web browser page automatically for you and allow you to view the information at the website indicated.

Then just click on the DOWNLOAD NOW (19.42 MB) button that you see on the left hand side of the page.

Then follow the onscreen instructions to download and install the program. Be sure to click on the yellow security bar at top of the page if necessary to ALLOW DOWNLOAD.
However, if you want to actually BURN videos onto recordable DVDs, then you are going to have to go out and buy a bit of new hardware.

The ROM part in DVD ROM stands for READ ONLY MEMORY. That means your disk drive can only READ DVD disks, it is unable to BURN (record) onto disks. For that you will have to go out and buy a DVD RW disk drive. They look exactly the same as yours, but are a few bucks more, and they have the extra capability of burning files onto blank recordable DVD disks (DVD-Rs).

Please comment back here to this page if you have any questions, have difficulty accessing the links, or just require further general assistance and I will respond as soon as I see it.

Thank you very much, good luck, and take care.

Joe.

Transfer files to a new computer?

From Maxtor's web-site, download the "MaxBlast" software.
Use it to "clone" your existing disk-drive onto your new disk-drive.
It works, and it works _very_ quickly.

Other than that, use the Windows "Files and Settings Transfer Wizard" (under System Tools, under Accessories, under All Programs) to select what you want to copy (E-mail? contacts? Files? Music?) and to burn one "aggregate" file onto a DVD-recordable disk.
Then, use the same Wizard to "import" from that disk onto the new system.

Toshiba Laptop A215-s4747 fdisk won't recognize hard disk?

Dear Ontljoshi,

your hard drive is Portable 2.5" SATA type and to take backup first you need to take out hard drive from laptop. you can check your laptop manuals "how to replace/upgrade Hard drive"; then you need an external SATA to USB cable or you can get External SATA enclouser from which you can connect your hard drive via USB to another PC or Laptop and you can take backup easily your files onto other machine or burn DVD.

Please have a look below products.

By mistake I bought a dvd rw disc instead of dvd-rw disc and recorded a holiday video on my camcorder with it. I usually then upload the contents of the dvd onto my hard drive (Pioneer) and then download...

Try uploading to your PC then converting it to AVI this keeps quality of video. Then if you want to download to a disk use Nero to convert it to VOB (DVD format) and burn off. You can also use Nero to erase the disk. (Nero 7 or more recent preferably.) You must also be sure you PC DVD read write head can take the DVD +/- RW. CHeck compatability.

Need help for Toshiba Satellite A60

You have to order replacement disks from Toshiba - probably about $30 for a set.

If you are getting errors with installing just plain XP, you probably have a hardware problem - Probably a bad hard drive or stick or RAM. Try pulling one stick out (if you have 2) and reinstalling XP.

You can get hard drive testing software here:
http://www.hitachigst.com/hdd/support/download.htm

Get the ISO download on that page. If you need to know how to burn the ISO to CD properly look here:
